Motorcycle Mid Layers
In winter you should be wearing a mid-layer over your technical base-layer. A mid-layer come in all shapes and sizes. A fleece is a mid-layer. As is a jacket containing hollow-form fibres. Heavier Merino makes for a brilliant mid-layer. And then there’s our favourite, a down jacket. A down jacket is a great insulator, but a down jacket makes any motorcycle jacket more comfortable. And it works just as well off the bike as on it.

What a great bit of kit. Purchased these for both myself and my wife, and have been really impressed. Scrunches up really small in your pannier, provides another layer that can be thrown on and off with ease and fits really well. I wore it over my heated jacket on the way to work the other morning with the Klim Marakesh jacket over the top and despite it being frosty when I left home I was toasty warm. Great bit of kit - wish Id bought one sooner !

Having seen the positive reports for the Zephyr the opportunity to buy one in one of the weekend sales seemed too good to pass. Combined with an Halvarsons Wien and a Rohan merino fleece it covers all bases between 5C time for a heated jacket and 20C time for a mesh. Packs to nothing so easy to stow, light and thin so adds no bulk and seems well made. Great service from Motolegends, great product from Klim
Klim Maverick down jacket in asphalt / black
This massively expensive bit of kit has been on my radar for a long time...finally took the plunge...its very good indeed. Is it worth the price tag?...well it certainly does what it says on the tin, so...I choose to try to move on from smarting from the expenditure and revel in cosiness instead! I guess this is all a part of buying American goods at the present time...an activity I currently in all good faith cant help but question somewhat? But the Maverick is everything it is touted to be so...over to you....
