Motorcycle Mid Layers
In winter you should be wearing a mid-layer over your technical base-layer. A mid-layer come in all shapes and sizes. A fleece is a mid-layer. As is a jacket containing hollow-form fibres. Heavier Merino makes for a brilliant mid-layer. And then there’s our favourite, a down jacket. A down jacket is a great insulator, but a down jacket makes any motorcycle jacket more comfortable. And it works just as well off the bike as on it.

Far too nice a garment to keep for riding. I wear mine as a smart casual cardigan. Perfect for chilly mornings and evenings.
Klim Zephyr Wind shirt in black
A lovely quality, simple jacket - just does what it says on the tin - it fits unobtrusively under my outer jacket. It works by stopping all those leaks of cold air that seem to work their way around and through to the inner layers when riding - effectively minimising the wind chill factor. An added bonus is that it folds up small for easy storage when not required on the bike. Very useful to wear when riding during the evening chill, or when the weather tends to turn colder in SeptemberOctober here in the UK. 5-Stars from me for a quality product that looks as though it will last for ages.
Rukka Down-X 2.0 jacket in black
I purchased a Rukka Kemi jacket at the same time as this item. The Kemi unlike the Nivala doesnt come with a down jacket . The quality is very good and it easily fits under the Kemi. Its not inexpensive but it does work very well.
