Klim Zephyr Wind shirt in black Product Information
The Klim Zephyr is a very neat and effective bit of kit that has been designed to bring a touch of extra wearability to a mesh, or highly breathable, top. If you’re wearing something like the Marrakesh, and it’s a bit chilly, we often recommend wearing something like a Scott waterproof jacket over the top. But in certain conditions that might be deemed a little excessive. And in such circumstances the Zephyr will do the same job.
Worn inside the jacket, the Zephyr is a stretchy, breathable top that has a membrane bonded to its inner surface. This membrane is a windproof barrier, and will certainly take the chill off. Now because a windproof membrane is also a waterproof membrane, the Zephyr will also deliver a degree of water resistance; but only water resistance because the membrane is not taped. The shirt will roll up to the size of a tennis ball so is extremely portable.

Jamie: Forget Jumpers And Sweatshirts
This is all youll ever need! Im always a bit cynical when a product gets hyped up as much as this, but I do trust Motolegends to say it as it is and Im always willing to take a gamble and find out for myself. Ive lost a LOT of money over the years doing this but Ive had a few results and this is definitely one of them. The first thing I noticed was how flimsy it feels, but it isnt at all and actually feels like it will be very robust. I wore this over a long sleeved t shirt under my normal jacket when it was 8 degrees and it done exactly what Id been told it would - took the chill off completely. Wore it yesterday 3 degrees at motorway speeds and a tour of West London and although Id added a thermal base layer under the T shirt the Klim Zephyr under my Goldtop jacket was the perfect combination- warm enough without feeling sweaty and over heating at any point. Im a large in pretty much every other topjacket but the Medium fitted me like a glove. The fact that it also packs down small enough to fit in a googles pouch means it will be going everywhere with me from now on.
Steve R: Excellent addition to my kit
A lovely quality, simple jacket - just does what it says on the tin - it fits unobtrusively under my outer jacket. It works by stopping all those leaks of cold air that seem to work their way around and through to the inner layers when riding - effectively minimising the wind chill factor. An added bonus is that it folds up small for easy storage when not required on the bike. Very useful to wear when riding during the evening chill, or when the weather tends to turn colder in SeptemberOctober here in the UK. 5-Stars from me for a quality product that looks as though it will last for ages.
Chris: Klim Zephyr
Does what it says on the tin.
Ben Ripley: Very useful, quality bit of kit
I was tempted by Motolegends take on this item that its a very packable shirt that can be easily carried to take the windchill off when wearing something like a mesh armoured shirt as my main layer, which I do in the warmer months. On cooler days recently Id taken to wearing my not-very-well-vented Gore-Tex jacket, but then suffering when the sun inevitably came out. Im a qualified mountain leader and I knew that something like this would be just the ticket. Some amount of thermal retentive properties but - crucially - cutting the majority of wind chill. Ive only worn this for one ride thus far, but it works exactly as advertised. As for sizing, I know Klim outerwear usually comes up large for a given size, so most people size down, but this is sized via chest measurement which gave me a Large, which I went by and its perfect. Its a bit looser around the bottom than maybe Id have liked in a perfect world but it has a cinch cord which does the job, and going for a smaller size a medium in my case would have been too tight around the shoulders. So go with the size as advertised on the sizing chart would be my advice. I wear it under my armoured shirt not Klim and its barely noticeable in terms of its physical volume, but its effect certainly is. Regardless I still see it having a useful role to play as we head into the winter months, under my much more substantial Gore-Tex jacket. It is beautifully made, and like a few things notably the Scott Ergo waterproofs it seems to be an extremely reasonable price for what it does. Highly recommended.
Matt: It works !!!
I keep this with me , no matter what bike Im on , and I use it under any of the bike jackets Ive got not just my Marrakesh . It packs so small you can carry it and forget about it, but when needed ,it adds that extra little bit of protection against the wind chill . Perfect .
Codie Wrydrop: Klim Zephyr
Very handy, always have it with me and gives an added windchill protection when the weather changes. Layering system is the way forward for the British weather
TommyDonut: Fantastic versatile mid layer
I commute a huge amount of mileage all year round in all weathers. I have worn the Zephyr as a mid layer over a polyester base layer and under a laminated suit in temperatures as low at 2c and have been sufficiently warm. Combine this with a down mid layer and I have ridden in temperatures as low as -7c and have been warm. The Zephyr also works as a destination jacket and doesnt look out of place in the evening in the pub. Excellent product that is very versatile.
JamesH: Added versatility
A fantastic layer to use in combination with my summer mesh jacket. I can now wear this layer and ride in much cooler temps. When it gets warmer, it folds down to a very small size indeed. Very well made product.
William Crooks: Klim zephyr wind shirt
I purchased this product about a month ago now, and having had a chance to wear it its perfect, I wear it under the Marrakesh and it keeps the chill off really well, I would highly recommend this garment. I would like to thank the Motolegends team on a excellent delivery service, everything I have ordered over the last year and theres been a few items have always arrived the day.1010
KevinG: Brilliant
Bought this with the Marakesh and its a great combination and you can wear the shirt by itself as well. Buy it!
DaveW: It Does Make A Difference!
I bought the very thin, and the very lightweight, Zephyr wind shirt a while back, and paired it with a Klim Marrakesh jacket fitted with level two D3O Ghost armour. Ive managed to wear it once at the beginning of spring, but it really did make a difference, in fact, it worked a treat. When compared to a normal heavy motorcycle jacket, I found the layering approach much less restrictive, and a joy to wear. Next up will probably the Klim Maverick down jacket for winter, after that, I should be covered for most situations. Its expensive, but Klim gear is top quality, and it just works. Highly recommended.
Rick: does the job admirably
perfect for under a mesh jacket for those early morning starts - no thermal gain but prevents the wind chill. very thin and packs up to almost nothing it will almost keep you dry in a short shower as well
JERRY: Makes a mesh jacket more usable!
went out early for a ride wearing my mesh jacket dont like being hot on the prospect of warm weather. Soon realised my mistake as i slowly began to freeze. The solution was the zephyr, put it on until the day warms up then go back to full mesh. Im a 44 chest so i bought a large and it fits great. I cant pack it down to the size of a tennis ball as stated but it easily fits in a pocket.
Rich_O: Brilliant
Does exactly what Chap in the Cap said it does. Worn with Klim Marrakech jacket and moderate base layer fleece, kept me comfortable at temperatures as low as 11c at 60mph.
Chris: Klim zephyr wind shirt
Watched the review for this item from Chris on YouTube, already had a windproof top from RST but found it heavy and a little uncomfortable. This jacket is just about as good as it gets-windproof , comfortable, packs down to fit in a pocket and looks good even as a light jacket while wondering about in town . Buy it you wont be disappointed and yes I know £100 for a windproof seems expensive but this is worth it.
Andrew D-based: What a Surprise!
I expected the Wind Shirt to be an extra reserve item, but I used it yesterday in temperatures down to 2C on top of a synthetic base, Icebreaker, 260 Icebreaker 320 and was warm enough. I will now use the Wind Shirt regularly and keep the Klim Maverick as the extra reserve layer - its less bulky and easier to walk around in without getting hot. Great!
Neil: Game changer
For a bit of kit so diminutive...as per the heading...a game changer!
Rod: Can Recommend
now bought a second one, does what it says on the tin, keeps you dry in a rain shower, warm on a chilly day, folds up to nothing, easy to wash and can wear it when off bike and its chilly.....Brilliant
Jono: Excellent.
When your layering up and you need something windproof, this is the piece of kit to do it. Not only on the bike but for any situation where a windproof layer is required. And best of all it packs down to nothing, wether in a pannier, tank bag, under your seat, or even fit it in a pocket.
Richard Cleverly: So versatile I wear it on and off the bike
The sort of item you never knew you needed and yet becomes indispensable. I wear it under my Marrakesh when the temperature drops or either end of the day. I often carry it when heading out to cover me for when the sun drops andor the wind picks up. Simply brilliant.
Brian: Versatile textile
Deals with almost everything and folds into nothing. Lightweight, thin, very comfortable, windproof and showerproof. Job done.
Horse: Best Ever
This has to be the best bit of kit i have bought ! I wear it all the time even as a light walking jacket it is amazing , too hot just fold it up and put it in my pocket ..witchcraft i tell you
Rob: Brilliant Jacket
Bought a Klim Zephyr jacket online after a brief e-mail conversation with MotoLegends Team about the pros and cons of it compared to other options. Took the plunge and received it promptly, as has been the case with all online orders Ive placed with them. Great jacket both on and off the bike have already used it as casual wear, too , great price, great service, whats not to like ?
Mark J: Not tried it yet
Oops a great bit of kit. Will find kit tomorrow how it holds up under my Marrakesh which I also received today. I am normally size med 38-40 chest and I purchased the small which is a Perfect fit without it stretching
Donald: Necessary piece of kit
This is a great garment. Lightweight, compacts small, and yet does the job without overheating and making me sweat. Worn under my Klim Marrakesh it is the perfect combination. I dont doubt itll also prove its worth under my Halvarsson Prime jacket when the weather gets more inclement. Definitely a necessary piece of kit!
Andy R: Maybe everyone should own one.
Well Ill start with only 2 negatives I can think of. Seems quite expensive for what it is and I think maybe the addition of a hand warmer pocket could be good. Aside from that its excellent. Does the job brilliantly, it fits under pretty much anything and when not wearing it takes up no space. If you was wearing it on its own whilst out and about it looks smart also.
Ken K: Just the job!
This is a brilliant under jacketshirt. It is light weight, comfortable, easy to stash away and very effective. The sizing is spot on and you hardly know youre wearing it except of course, you are a lot warmer with in than without it!
Martyn: why didnt I buy this earlier
Trust the reviews and Motolegends product review, stunning kit. Did a ride at around 4 Deg C wearing a warm and safe heated baselayer this zephyr and a waterproof jacket, toasty warm, low setting on the warm and safe. This combination was very comfortable, no restrictionstightnesslooseness, but best of all I wasnt like the Michelin man.
Robert: Lost so replacement was a priority!
I lost my first Zephyr jacket, I rated it so highly that I immediately ordered a replacement from MotoLegends! To be honest this is how highly I rate this jacket. Its offers amazing wind protection for its weight and always stays in my pannier as my go to jacket to wear under my Klim Marrakesh.
Malcolm: Brilliant bit of kit
Kept finding myself getting cold on the way home at 2 in the morning after work having rode in nice weather. Hated putting on my work fleece under the jacket as it bulked everything up so took the plunge and bought one of these. Superb. Light enough that you dont notice it but boy it does the job. Packs small enough that it is a permanent fixture on the bike and no worries about temperature changes. Fit is great with stretch and just feels quality. As with tools, pay for a decent bit of kit and the job gets done with no fuss. Get one!
David: Just in case
This is a fabulous garment to keep on the bike at all times. If you've misjudged the temperature it can add an all important extra few degrees to what ever you are wearing. Saved my bacon, particularly on days when Id thought a mesh jacket was enough. But clearly wasn't. Buy one, you wont regret it.
Ian: What a remarkable garment!
What a stunning item. The degree of warmth it adds is simply remarkable given that you dont really know you are wearing it. It is so thin. I wore it at about 14 degrees outside and it literally felt like there was no wind and I was fizzing along too. Highly recommended.
David Harding: Great bit of kit.
I got this wind shirt to complement my Rukka Force Air jacket. The review on the Motolegends web site is spot on, and its made what was mainly a Jacket I used for 25C + far more versatile and I have so far ridden in 8C and been comfortable.
Ron: Money well spent
I have an intense dislike for big heavy jackets, so I thought about getting one of these about a year ago, but before I could make up my mind, they were no longer available. When they recently became available again, I didnt hesitate. It arrived on a Saturday morning, quite literally as I was getting on my bike to go out for a ride. This being only early 2nd April, it was still pretty nippy, but I rushed back in, took off my winter jacket and replaced it with my new Zephyr and my beautiful, wonderful, SO comfortable Klim Marrakesh jacket, and off I went. I daresay Id have done better to put on either a base or mid layer too, so that Id have been slightly warm, but with only my Marrakesh and Zephyr I was quite comfortable. Its so thin that it takes up no space, whether wearing it or carrying it in a bag, box or pannier. Its most certainly a great piece of kit, and well worth the expense.
Andrew Webber: High quality item
For something so thin, it is incredibly effective. Worn as a base layer whilst on bike as well as a jacket just out for a stroll, both instances exactly what you would want. Superb
SteveB: Brilliant Mid-Layer!
Bought this recently to take the edge of the cold days and it is simply brilliant! Great fit, really high quality and does the job far better than I ever expected. I wear it every time I go out now as you don't even notice you are wearing it yet it keeps you incredibly warm. Cant fault it at all and have even got over the fact the zip is on the wrong side US -. Worth every penny and should be in every bikers wardrobe for sure!
Mandy: Ladies too
Very Light, Stretchy and Windproof. You dont know youre wearing it and it doesnt increase the bulk, but keeps you much warmer than extra layers of clothing. The medium is good for size 14 over a tee shirt or jumper.
Loz: Brilliant draftproof underjacket
The under jacket windproof jacket or midlayer is brilliant, it means gear you use in 10-15ºC is now good for 0-5ºC because the windchill doesnt get to you. Which is great as it means you dont need thick thermals. Also it is stretchy and slippery as does not hinder movement and is actually better than not wearing it, if the jack is slightly tight. Expensive but worth every penny.
Martin: Brilliant
This is awesome, the perfect bit of kit for cool days and easy to remove as the day warms up. Love it
Iain: Lightweight high quality
Bought one of these on the strength of a recent video from Motolegends, and have not been disappointed. Ive worn it under my Klim Marrakesh jacket in temperatures as low as 6C and despite it being very thin and lightweight, it adds great protection against wind and hence a significant increase in comfort. It adds no bulk to the Marrakesh, and it can be used effectively off the bike as a lightweight jacket. Very impressed, really a great value piece of gear!
Robert: Simply amazing!
This jacket was well worth the wait, it simply does everything required of it. Ive used it for a couple of rides under the Marrakesh jacket and it just transforms the use of the jacket. Just don't give it a second thought, buy it! You will never regret this purchase!
Mike: Brilliant item of clothing!
This item is simply brilliant! It does exactly what I wanted it is an ultra light wind proof layer to wear underneath a light summer jacket. You know the situation it is summer, its too hot for a full on jacket so you wear your lighter summer jacket. But in the mornings it is slightly too cold for the first few hours. Thats where this shirt comes in. Its brilliant. Super thin, far lighter than a normal midlayer. For £90 it is a fantastic addition to your all-year biking kit!!
Stephen: Keeps out the drafts
Good quality inner jacket when out riding my motorbike
