Motorcycle gloves

There are many different styles of motorcycle glove to suit just about every kind of riding situation, and if you ride across the seasons, it is likely that you will have to equip yourself with more than one pair of gloves. For summer riding, and when it’s dry, it’s hard to argue against leather motorcycle gloves. It’s comfortable to wear, has strength for abrasion resistance, and gives the rider good feel at the controls. You could equally go for a textile version, but in essence a summer glove has no membrane. But leather is not good in the rain, as it simply absorbs moisture. This can leave you feeling both wet and cold. When it’s cold but dry, you may want to go for a padded leather glove. Every biker will probably also need a pair of waterproof motorcycle gloves. These can either be a summer weight, called a summer waterproof glove; or, for when it is cold and wet, an insulated and waterproof glove, known as a winter glove. Of course, from a style perspective, there are dozens of different designs that allow you to match your glove to the style of bike you ride.

We particularly like and recommend Richa gloves and Held gloves. Both companies started out as glove manufacturers so they really know gloves. Richa make very highly spec'd gloves at very competitive prices. Held make quite unique gloves and in a good range of sizing including short-fingered versions.

Halvarssons Hofors gloves in brown

KW: Great summer glove

These fit my hands perfectly, more importantly the finger fit is excellent. A great summer glove, well made at a sensible price. Went for the dark brown for a change, a more classic look.

Dan Rodriguez from California: Heavy Duty Protection

I postponed this review for number of reasons. First, these gloves took a while to break in. Firstly for the construction, but mostly because I sized down. I normally do this with gloves as I prefer a snug fit and condition them during break in. I chose to do this on a particularly warm California winter. After soaking them and wearing them for a few hours I wore them at work hint, hint as a I rode around. Let me tell you, I thought my hands were locked in place. The gloves are thicker than any Ive ever tried. I knew this would take a while. After a few days they began to form to my hands. And now, after a few months, are like a second skin. The gloves are as heavy duty as all the videos and reviews say they are. I showed them to my Seargent, who agreed these are what we should be issued, not left over firefighters gloves. I highly recommend you try a pair and start with your recommended size. Shipping to California was surprisingly fast. Thank you Motolegends.
