Rukka AFT 2.0 gloves in black

There's not a whole lot to say about the Rukka AFT 2.0 gloves, and that's because, in truth, there's not a whole lot to them. In some respects they're about as simple as a glove gets.

 

Clearly, it's a summer glove. But if there existed a continuum to cover the full spectrum of summer gloves one would have to suggest that the AFTs would be at the more-ventilated end. These gloves flow about as much air as it's possible for a glove to flow.

 

Rukka tells us that the glove is 100% leather. Indeed, they suggest that it's all goat hide. Well, I would have been minded to suggest that the palm was microfibre, but if Rukka says it's goat hide, then goat hide it must be.

 

On the back of the hand all the leather is perforated. There's a lovely, soft knuckle protector which adds to the feeling of comfort that you get with the AFT. It's not D3O, although it feels as though it could be. There's an added layer of leather down the outside of the hand and in to the palm. There's another one inside the thumb; in fact, between the thumb and the forefinger. On three fingers you get vented, rubber bumpers.

 

A good portion of the surface area of the glove, however, is covered with elasticated mesh. It's on the back of the hand, down the fingers, and along the thumb. As I've said, these gloves will flow a lot of air.

 

At the wrist you get a panel of stretchy Neoprene for added comfort. The wrist fastens by means of a leather strap with Velcro.

 

On both hands the forefingers and thumbs are touchscreen sensitive.

 

There are, I feel sure, many gloves that look like the AFT. They may even wear like the AFT. But I would suggest that few are made to Rukka's standards.

 

The AFT is made from all the good stuff. And it has been made good! It will flow a lot of air, and it will be supremely comfortable.
