Spidi Alu-Pro Evo gloves in black Product Information

The Spidi Alu-Pro Evo is new for 2025. It's very much a winter glove. We would suggest that it's a winter glove for the person who is not put off by riding in cold weather, but if you're a 6.00 am, on-the-bike commuter who rides through the winter, come what may, then there are probably better gloves out there for you. There are probably more robust gloves, gloves with longer warranties, and probably even more insulation, although for the kind of glove we're talking about, you're undoubtedly going to be paying a lot more money.

The outer chassis of the Alu-Pro Evo is an elasticated, Neoprene-like material. Neoprene is always comfortable; and it's also quite water-resistant, although the real waterproofing comes from an H2Out waterproof membrane. The palm is a 0.6/0.8 mm goat skin. There is suede-like reinforcement down the side of the hand, and on the palm.

For warmth the glove contains 150 gr Primaloft insulation. In terms of warmth, you also benefit from a Polar Fleece lining. The membrane is Spidi's H2Out membrane. We have been working with Spidi for years; and their membrane never seems to fail. And, of course, here you've got two barriers against water ingress. The Neoprene outer shell and the membrane itself.

In terms of protection, you get Spidi's trademark Warrior knuckle shield. There are rubber bumpers on the fingers, in addition to some further soft padding. There's another cushioning pad on the heel of the palm.

There's no visor wipe, per se, but I reckon the Neoprene that runs down the sides of the fingers will do the job . The index finger on both gloves is touchscreen sensitive, but you do need to use your fingertip rather than the end of the finger, so it's a bit clumsy to use. There's a wide, stretchy strap for cinching down the cuff of the glove; and that works well. The cuff will easily go inside the sleeve of any technical jacket.

So what is this glove, and who is it for? Well, having stated that it won't be up to the job for some, there are people who will think that it's not a good glove. And that's not the case. For most of us this is going to be a full-on winter glove. I don't do a lot of winter riding, but if I were to go out on a fresh, November morning, then a glove like this would be more than up to the job. The glove will keep you warm, dry and protected. Really, what more could you ask for ?
