Full Face Motorcycle Helmets

Full face motorcycle helmets have been around since the 1960s and are now a legal requirement for most track riding or racing. The top brands all make models in this category.

If you want a Shoei full face helmet you can choose the GT Air 3 or the NXR 2 for touring or the Glamster 06 for a retro / custom look. If your preference is for an Arai full face helmet then your options are the Quantic for sports touring or the Concept-XE for a more urban vibe.  The new S3 is the current Schuberth full face helmet available. At a slightly lower starting price we offer two Shark full face helmets - the Spartan RS and the Spartan GT Pro

What the best full face motorcycle helmet is for you depends on getting one that fits you properly.

Are full face motorcycle helmets safer?

Much is written about whether a full face helmet is safer than a flip-up helmet and certainly on track riders prefer full face. The main advantage of a flip up helmet is that if you are involved in an accident it is much easier for first aiders to access your airways without having to remove your motorcycle helmet.

How to measure for a full face motorcycle helmet - how should a full face motorcycle helmet fit?

Initially there is a circumference measurement of your head in cms. But, as important is the shape of your head and how that matches to the shape of the helmet. With Shoei now we have the ability to custom fit helmets using the Shoei PFS (Personal Fit System) available in our Guildford store.

Schuberth S3 helmet in Daytona anthracite

Steve: Quality Helmet.

Has a good quality feel to this helmet with usual top three position air vent two air vents in the chin bar, one for the visor the other for chinface air flow which has a filter that can be removed cleaned. Visor has a good seal around it with a 120 grade pinlock fitted, crack position easy to removereplace. Nice feel to the padding which can all be removed and with emergency release cheek pads. Comes with speakers mike fitted, just plug in the battery not supplied and your good to go. I have not tried this helmet on the bike yet but going by the previous two Schuberths I have had, S2 C3 pro I expect it to be just as quiet. As always top 5 star service and advise from Motolegends, you cannot go wrong with these guys.

David James: Ideal Retro Helmet

I had been looking for some time to buy a quality retro helmet to use with a couple of my classic bikes. As I normally ride using an Arai helmet the obvious choice was their Arai Rapide Concept-XE but after trying one on I did not find it very comfortable at all. The next choice was the Shoei Glamster but I had difficulty finding anywhere near to where I live to try one in order to get the correct size. Eventually managed try one on in Sheffield but they didnt have the colour I wanted. One call to Motolegends and they checked their stock and the Shoei distributors and had the helmet to me within 2 working days. Having used the helmet several times now I am delighted with the fit, build quality and overall comfort level. It is much lighter and the shell size is smaller for a given size than the Arai equivalent. If I have one criticism it would be that the visor does not have as many indent positions as my usual Arai so it is not quite as flexible when riding with the visor partially open. As both the bikes I ride have quite extreme riding positions I find the lighter weight of the Shoei does not put as much strain on my neck muscles when in a crouched cafe racer position with clip ons. It accommodates my glasses easily and as I always wear earplugs the noise level is more than acceptable. I am seriously considering purchasing another colour way to use on one of my other bikes I like it so much. The service from Motolegends was, as usual, exemplary. I only wish I lived nearer.

Arai Quantic helmet in diamond black

Steve: Best helmet I have owned so far

Ive owned various brands of helmets over my years of motorcycling, including HJC, AGV, Nolan and others and this is by far the best fitting and most comfortable helmet. Perhaps not the quietest, but earplugs take care of that. It is still quieter than most of my previous helmets though. Highly recommended.
