Scorpion EXO Junior Air Fun helmet in blue / orange Product Information
We are very happy to have access to this children's Scorpion EXO Junior helmet because, if you are going to take a kiddie on the back of the bike, it’s only fair that they should have a helmet that fits them properly. The fit, of course, is crucial, because a helmet that doesn’t fit properly won’t protect properly. And so making a youngster ride in your ten year old helmet that fits like a bucket just isn’t on.
Now we’ve seen cheap-as-chips kids’ helmets around; usually in places that specialise in trials gear, but in every way the Scorpion EXO Junior Air is a proper helmet; it just happens to be smaller; and that’s it.
The helmet meets the ECE 22-06 standard. You get venting on the chin and on the brow. There’s an exhaust vent too. The visor seals properly against the shell of the helmet, and comes Pinlock prepared. The strap is equipped with a micrometric adjuster. But what makes the little Scorpion particularly impressive is that it also comes with their Air-pump system to allow a snug fit to be achieved on the cheeks.
The EXO Junior Air comes in three sizes. The S is 48-49, the M is 50-51, and the large is 52-53. Of course, what this also means is that the helmet will work on some adults who have vey small heads. We rarely come across guys who need a helmet smaller than 54, but it’s not that uncommon to find such women.
We are very impressed with this helmet. At just over a hundred quid, it’s pretty affordable. We don’t think there are many 22-06 kids’ helmets out there, so if you want a young one to be properly protected, the diminutive Scorpion is perhaps the way to go.
We’ve spoken about kids as pillions, but clearly if you’ve got a kid on a mini-bike, an electric bike or even a go-kart, this helmet will also be perfect.
