I wear it next to the skin and it is very light and quite thin BUT it is very effective as it allows heat in from a heated jacket and out when you are warm enough, a clever piece of kit.

These are excellent pants, well made and extremely comfortable. A key feature for me and one not really highlighted, is that they will dry over night if hung up. A major benefit when touring. Two pairs and you can travel for weeks.
