Halvarssons Comfort Outlast Wool sweater base layer in grey Product Information

Merino makes for the best base- and mid-layers. It traps heat, it wicks moisture, it holds moisture without the wearer feeling wet and it tends not to smell. Halvarssons’ Comfort garments are made from a combination of Merino (61%) and Outlast (31%). This is a medium weight garment, so could be worn as either a base- or a mid-layer. Now effective as Merino is, in this case the Merino wool is suffused with Outlast. Outlast is a very clever technology that stores heat in paraffin molecules. This perhaps isn’t the place to go into it, but effectively the garment is a temperature regulator. So it will cool you down in hot weather, and if used correctly it can serve to make you warmer when it’s cold. The bottom line is that if you are looking for a single layer that could be worn all year round, Halvarssons’ Comfort range might be the one to go for.

Norton: Excellent Base layer

I wear it next to the skin and it is very light and quite thin BUT it is very effective as it allows heat in from a heated jacket and out when you are warm enough, a clever piece of kit.

Ive previously purchased Halvarssons merino tops in a 3xl and they have been a perfect fit and extremely comfortable. However Ive recently bought this comfort shirt in a 3xl and its much smaller, maybe a 2xl at best. The length is shorter as well. You might want to take this sizing issue into account if youre considering buying one.
