Sena Helmet Accessories

Sena-header

Sena is a company that specialises in communications systems. They manufacture Bluetooth enabled products for a variety of uses, including industrial appllications and cameras. But Sena is one of the market leaders in systems that are used by motorcyclists. Sena produces a number of packages for those who are prepared to affix a 'box' on to the side of their helmets, but for us it is the 10U package that is particularly interesting, because it can be fitted directly into a number of helmets without any external fitments. For Motolegends, though, it is the 10U’s ability to integrate with any Schuberth C3 based helmet that is particularly interesting. In 2017, Sena will replace Cardo as the official Schuberth comms. partner.

Sena SMH5 Multicom with clamp kit

Adam Augustin: Mr

I now have 3 of these that link to my 20s evo, which I use for motorcycle instruction. Frankly after trying most other blue tooth and back to back radio systems these are by far the best. Easy to link, simple to install to the students lids, and a large volume control which they can find even with gloves on. With really no other buttons to press its fool proof. Range is good for the claimed 700m even in built up areas and significantly better than the claims of others. For instructors these are perfect. Downside is when you remove the boom mic the supplied rubber hung is easy for the students to loose. Changed them for simple flat grommets. I would highly recommend them

Schuberth C3 / Basic / Pro / E1 SC10UA intercom headphone - SAVE £40 when purchased with a new C3 helmet.

Stephen Kinsella: Mr

The fitting instructions in the Quick Start Guide that comes with the kit, and the Users Guide from the internet, are useless - but the youtube video goes through installation very clearly. Once in, it paired up with Tomtom satnav and worked straight away - just as it should do.

Arai Quantic and Concept XE Sena ACS10 comms system - SAVE £30 when purchased with a new Arai helmet

MarkABZ: Nice, neat and tidy comms system

As advertised, this is designed with the Arai Quantic in mind. So the fit and install are relatively easy. So far, I havent used the phone or music functions, just the SatNav, and the sound quality is really clear. Fit wise, the speakers sit nicely into the pockets in the helmet, so no interference with my ears. Its a simple system, and streamlined, so probably prevents increased wind noise to. The only things for consideration are, the fact that as the system is integrated, your helmet has to be to where your socket is as opposed to taking the comms unit off the helmetnot really a big deal. Gaining access to the charge connection can be fiddly, and I am conscious that as it is in between the lining, there is a potential that it might overheat when charging upso far, I have not experienced that, so just a thought. Overall though, I am pleased how it works and looks and to be honest, I dont need all the latest gizzmos and functions, as most of us never use them.
