Shoei JO Carburettor TC-6 helmet in white / black Product Information

The Shoei JO is not your traditional, classic, open-face jet helmet. Most of the helmets on the market are still very much based on the design of the original Bell from the 1950s. The JO is an updating of that original concept. In profile it has a more sloped shell that falls to a little upturned Kama tail at the neck. It has no poppers for a peak, but what it does have is a built-in, and adjustable, drop-down visor. The shell is the same Matrix composite fibre shell you find on many Shoei helmets. For a relatively low-profile fit, the shell comes in three sizes. The Bell may have more but, in terms of comfort and fit, there’s no comparison.

But what makes the JO such a brilliant helmet is that, as with all Shoei helmets, we have the ability to fit three different sizes of cheek pad and three different sizes of headliner into every single size. A perfect fit can never be totally guaranteed, but no other open-face on the market offers such scope for custom fitting. You’ll find the full specification in the bullet points, but if you’re looking for the last word in open-face sophistication, the JO is pretty much it.

In terms of a Shoei open face helmet, the only options are the JO and the Shoei Cruise 3

Tim: Classic Lid

Bought this classic lid to go with my Bonny. Not disappointed, the fit is perfect and the quality is ususal Shoei. I particularly like the drop down visor.

Nigel Bilton: Classic styling!

Classically styled, 20th century manufacturing, what could be better. When I first saw this helmet, it immediately stood out from the rest. Ordered one day, delivered the next with DPD, which is superb customer satisfaction!! Well done Motolegends, I will definitely be using you again. The helmet is well constructed and extremely light, so is comfortable to wear. The drop down visor is a brilliant idea and very easy to use. You have the best of both worlds where practicality is concerned, so very pleased with that. Fitted a new headset and boom Mike, and the manufactured recesses for button type earphones is a nice touch, so making the helmet just as comfy as it was before they were fitted. I know its not cheap, but Shoei just make good quality helmets, and you always get what you pay for. If youre in the market for an open face helmet, theres none finer, and with the added bonus of a drop down visor, its an even more attractive purchase.

This is a great helmet with a snug fit, without being tight. Personally I like a peaked helmet, but above 50-60mph they want to pull your head off. This is a nice compromise between a full face and an open face helmet, with added protection from flying insects. Peripheral vision is excellent, and I don't feel shut off from the environment that I'm riding through. Definitely the best open face helmet I've worn so far.

David J W Stewart: JO Joy !

Lives up to the hype - fits beautifully and to size. Quality is superb and in line with relatively high price. Customer services very helpful and a fuss free experience all round.

Bought this helmet to use on my KTM 690 Duke and on car track days. This a quality product with an excellent fit and the usual quality finish from Shoei. Excellent service from Mototlegends

Ian Stacey: Mr

A quality helmet as you would expect from Shoei. The fit is excellent and the visor operation is slick and doesn't feel flimsy. It has a "proper" double d-ring strap and once on, is surprisingly quiet. The quality is reflected in the price, but it's back to "how much is your head worth" - and in my opinion this is not only a practical helmet, but a good looking one as well. Highly recommended.
