Ben Ripley: What can I say?
Its a hi vis vest. What else is to be said? Is it hi vis? Yes. Is it a vest? Yes. All good then. At which point you look at the price and think someones moved the decimal point a place or two to the right. But dont be fooled. As MS would say this isnt just any hi vis vest. Now, I have other hi vis vests. Ive worn them on the bike. Theyre flappy, buzzy and bloody annoying. And theyre hot they dont allow my jacket to breathe in warm weather. Long story short I dont wear them on the bike anymore. This is none of those things. It fits snugly yet again the Motolegends size guide is spot on and doesnt buzz, flap, ride up or do anything to remind you its there. It just gets on with being highly visible. And breathable. And tough. In fact it is made of a material almost as robust as my summer mesh jacket. Its a hi vis vest that feels way more substantial than anything else hi vis Ive ever come across. But the price. The price is, well, significant. However, if you want to buy the absolute best hi vis you can Carlsberg if were doing more advert taglines then you have to buy this one. However I didnt pay full price, and this is the best bit. I looked around online and found it significantly cheaper elsewhere, so Motolegends did their thing and beat that already superb price by a full 10, just as they promise. What a winner and this vest thus came in at a far more reasonable price. Highly recommended, it really is that good.
Johnny: What price safety and top quality?
It seems to be unfashionable to wear a hi-vis top when riding a motorcycle but it may just help you to be seen. And if you place safety above fashion you should also consider quality and practicality. Consider price last. But youll have already seen the price and, no doubt, fallen off your chair. It does look like a lot of money, doesnt it? Rather than the one-off cost, consider the total cost of ownership. This is an extremely well put together garment with 3M reflective on a slightly stretchy hi-vis yellow. Not only does this help you be seen day or night, it means that the garment is a perfect fit over a jacket. And being a perfect fit means that theres no excess fabric flapping around in the breeze and the hi-vis looks as though its an integral part of the jacket works extremely well with the Rukka Nivala 2. A bonus of wearing this garment, especially for a R nineT rider in wet weather is that it prevents all the road grime ending up on the back of your jacket. Being machine washable at 40C is a good thing as itll be best friends with your washing machine during the winter months. I washed it on 40C the first time and it came up perfect. Comes up just as good on a 30C wash. Dont be fooled, this is not a cheap item. Not in terms of price nor quality. You really have to see it to understand why any old cheap IKEA-type hi-vis just isnt good enough. The Rukka hi-vis is a perfect fit with stretch fabric to ensure perfect fit and has special stuff on the inside at the bottom that grips not velcro, its like a rubbersilicone band to ensure it doesnt ride up. Having bought this, I can honestly say its the most over-engineered hi-vis Ive ever encountered and now all other hi-vis just dont make the grade. Buy this. You wont regret it.
Mike P: Excellent
I dont think Im alone in saying this is monstrously expensive for a hi-vis vest however. I would buy it again. Snug elastic fit to my Rukka jacket picked the same size so no flapping around even on motorway. Heavy duty so feels as though it will last. Keeps my jacket breathable and as much as you can ever look good in one of these, it is very well fitted.
RogerP: The best costs a little more
Perfect fit, very visible and very comfortable. I like the mesh for summer wear.
Dr K: Make Yourself Visible
Ive been overlooked too many times on the bike, so this vest though expensive is a must over whatever jacket I wear. It works well. Only two things Id mention the jacket gets dirty fairly quickly, so will need regular washes if used regularly and buy the size fairly small the stretch will make it fit you and if too large itll just flap annoyingly.
David: Excellent
What can I say If you want or have to wear one of these it couldnt be better than this
J P: Rukka Hi Viz vest
Expensive but good quality. Reflective material is very good, suits well the objective
