Rokker Rokkertech AAA Straight jeans in blue Product Information
As a company, we are not about ticking boxes, by which I mean, in the context of protective wear, that we are not necessarily impressed by a product solely because it is, for example, AAA rated. For us, the level of protection offered by a garment is clearly important, but of equal importance are comfort and wearability. After all, if you’re not comfortable on the bike you won’t be able to concentrate on the job in hand; and you therefore put yourself in a position where you are potentially less safe as a rider, and more likely to have an accident.
And so, impressive as this new, AAA-rated Rokkertech jean is, we do not take the view that it is a better jean than the standard, AA-rated Rokkertech jean. This new jean serves as an interesting addition to the Rokker range, but it will not be quite as comfortable to wear as, for example, the Tapered Slim and Legend models, which still, of course, have a slide time 50% greater than leather. Nevertheless, this jean will be preferred by some, and it may well work better on others, but we are of the view that, for many, if not most, people this new jean will not necessarily be the best option.
But there is a reason that we are still excited by these jeans, though; and it’s that they have a totally different fit to the Tapered Slim jeans that we love so much. They have what Rokker call a ‘straight’ fit. For that you can read wider or more generous in the leg. This is a style that is probably not going to appeal to the fashionista. They are as full as, if not fuller than, a Levi 501. But there are lots of people who do not like the slim and narrow fit of more modern jeans; jeans like our own Rokker Legend.
The new jean is not only straighter in the leg, it also has a substantially higher rise. And again, this will suit some. It may work better on those who are stouter of limb and greater of girth. They may also appeal to those of a certain vintage; those who like more wiggle room in their pants.
There’s probably also an age thing here. We have a lot of people in the shop who look at themselves in the mirror in slimmer jeans, and then declare: “No, that’s not me”. These jeans may appeal to such people as they definitely have more of what is known as a ‘dad fit’. This having been said, these AAA jeans might also appeal to those who seek a more authentic 1950s’/1960s’ look. No doubt about it, this will be the right jean for some. And for those who prefer the fit, that fact that it is AAA-rated can only come as a plus.
In terms of the detail, the new jean has a button fly. It comes with Rokker’s new Sas-Tec armour, rather than D3O, for the knees and the hips. And in the knees, the armour is adjustable.
As ever, the best way to get these jeans to fit correctly is to come and see us in Guildford. The jeans come in waist sizes from 30” up to 44”. And in leg lengths of 30”, 32”, 34” and 36”. And getting the right leg length is crucial when it comes to getting the armour to sit in the right position on your knee when you are sat on the bike.
Of course, to us here at Motolegends, this is all ‘grist to the mill’. We know how to fit jeans, and we know how to make them work. And if, for whatever reason, we have to unsew the armour pocket to move it up or down, or if the jeans need shortening so that the hem sits in the right place, al that is undertaken swiftly by us at no extra cost.
Lastly, because the fabric has a higher UHMWPE content, which is what accounts for its higher CE rating, these jeans cost £50 more than the Tapered Slims.

Neildavis1971: Comfortable
Feel like regular jeans. Size is fairly true. Would buy these again and would recommend without hesitation.
Mark A: Great fit and comfort
After trying many different pairs of riding jeans, these are the best I have seen. Expensive, but very comfortable fit wider across the seat than the Legend jeans which aided fit. Most importantly, when on the bike, the knee armour sits in the correct place and not to the side which I had found with other jeans. I have also noticed how well they flow air compared to my other lined jeans, perhaps not to be unexpected, but more than I thought they would.
