Richa Infinity 2 Adventure jacket in camel / black Product Information

This new colourway of the Richa Infinity 2 Adventure jacket is brand new for summer 2024. It is definitely on the money in terms of the adventure aesthetic for this year.

The chassis of the jacket is made from a combination of a 600 denier Cordura and panels of Ripstop fabric. There are areas of fixed mesh for permanent airflow. You also get areas of SuperFabric, or something that looks very like it, on the shoulders and elbows for added abrasion resistance. There's also some SuperFabric on the pocket flaps, but they're more for the look than protection.

A jacket like this, obviously, is all about airflow and venting. And so there are two large 'pockets' on the chest that can be unzipped to reveal mesh panels. There's another much larger, zippable panel on the back that also serves to aid breathability. Vents run all the way down the sleeves. There's also a mesh placket behind the main zip that, when the main zip is undone, will allow more air to flow into the jacket.

In terms of other detailing, you get an adjustable, Velcro belt at the waist, volume adjusters on the biceps and forearms, Scotchlite reflectors, two large, lower, flap pockets, Neoprene in the neck for comfort, a tab for holding the neck strap back, and a huge mesh pocket on the back. There are also some accordion stretch panels at the elbows for easy articulation.

The jacket comes with Level 1 D3O in the elbows and shoulders. Obviously, there's a pocket for a back protector. The jacket is A rated under EN17092 for abrasion resistance, which surprises us a little, because the jacket feels as though it shoud be AA.

The removable membrane has a waterproof score of 10,000. That's not massively impressive. A Gore-Tex membrane might be 20,000 to 25,000. But whilst not waterproof at the highest level, the jacket's membrane is much more than water resistant. Now, Richa claim that the membrane can be worn inside the jacket or on the outside. And we suspect that they have said this because they know that's something you sometimes get with very high-end, removable-liner jackets. But such liners contain stretch, and the one in the Richa jacket doesn't. So technically you might just about be able to put the waterproof liner over the jacket, but it would not be comfortable. So we don't think this is really a goer.

In our view, the way to go would be to wear the waterproof liner inside the main jacket in light rain, or for short rides. In heavier rain, or for longer rides, you would simply wear a stretchy Scott waterproof over the jacket. That would be the perfect solution, and you would never get wet.
