Belstaff Trialmaster jackets
Belstaff's Trialmaster jacket is the current iteration of their classic, long, four-pocket, belted motorcycle jacket. It is a style of jacket that has been popular with bikers since the 1950s, and was 'de rigueur' amongst trial riders for many decades. It is still one of the most popular styles of Belstaff motorcycle jacket and would look equally good out on the town as on a motorbike but don't be fooled; it is a properly protective motorcycle jacket. Fully CE approved, now to the AA level, with D3O shoulder and elbow armour and a pocket for a back protector this will keep you safe as well as looking the part. For 2024, the Trialmaster comes either in wax cotton or in leather and in both mens and ladies cuts. The wax cotton version is a waterproof jacket by virtue of the Miporex membrane, as well as a wax finish to the outer material which is now a mix of cotton and polyester. However, the leather jacket is just that; no thermal, no waterproof, just bags of style.
If the Trialmaster comes up too long on you then it would be worth trying the Belstaff Crosby. That's the mid-length jacket which we think is probably the easiest of the Belstaff collection to wear. Alternatively, for the full on Steve Mcqueen style jacket you might try the Belstaff Brooklands.

The jacket fits great and brought up to date with the addition of armour but still a classic
Belstaff Trialmaster Pro wax cotton jacket in mahogany
Took delivery and tried this last week. It was 3 degrees outside but dry. According to the Calculator.net web site, that meant a wind chill temperature of -6 degrees at 60mph. Had two base layers on under the Trialmaster - a thermal vest and a grandad vest also Motolegends kit - and didnt feel a thing. No cold spots where zips seams leak. No jet of icy air sneaking under the bottom of the jacket or down the neck. Felt snug all over but without feeling restricted at all. Very comfortable to wear in all the positions we contort into on a bike. The web site suggests that Belstaff sizes arent generous so many people trade up a size. I originally tried this but the Large was too big for my 40 chest - the Medium is perfect I tend to be long in the body and short in the leg - but this fits perfectly. Agree with the other reviewer - Brian - at half price in the legendary Sunday sale, this was one of the best buys Ive ever made which is just as well cos it feels like this jacket will still be going strong long after Ive fallen off my perch.

Great bit of kit, classic looks, very well put together as expected, and just so darn cool, love those cavernous pockets, ordered a large when I would normally have a medium and its a good fit with a little room for an extra layer or 2 in really cold weather, at age 60 theres a fair chance that this jacket will see me to the end of my riding days, at which time it will probably be sold on as a vintage, vintage piece to its next owner
