Arai Tour X5 helmet | Arai adventure helmet

The Arai Tour-X5 is unique because it is the first and only, of the big adventure helmets to attain EC 22-06 certification. Launched at the very end of 2023 with the first helmets arriving in early 2024 the Tour-X5 now sets the bar for adventure touring helmets.

Arai has always been obsessed with safety and protection. The Tour-X5 is no different. The company eschews many of the developments that now come as standard with less principled manufacturers. Arai will not countenance a drop down sun visor, or a flip up chin bar, or an integrated comms.. They have always tended towards a rounder shell to protect against a so called glancing off impact.

As an official Arai stockist, you can buy the Tour-X5 from us either online with free next day UK delivery or you can visit us at our Guildford premises for a custom fit.

The differences between the Arai Tour-X5 and its predecessor the Tour-X4 are manifold. The visor mechanism is much simpler so the visor can be changed without requiring a tool. The peak mechanism is also simpler although still needs a tool or coin to remove or replace it. The Tour-X5 has a flatter nose for better glancing off. It has a bigger visor aperture and the visor has better optical quality. The helmet comes with a 120 Maxvision XLT pinlock. Venting is improved with increased airflow. The chin strap uses a D-ring fastener as is the same with all Arai helmets.

Arai Tour-X5 helmet in Diamond black

ALC: Better than X-4

Replaced an X-4 and was immediately impressed with the fit, vision and comfort. On the road, Im not getting the buffeting from the visor but couldnt honestly say it was any quieter. Airflow is good but visor does not seem to lock in up position like the old one did. On the whole, excellent.

Arai Tour-X4 helmet in frost black

Graham: Quality helmet

As you would expect a top quality helmet. The finish, fittings and lining all make you feel it has been hand crafted. The fit of the helmet surprised me as I wasnt too sure if it would be right for me, I usually suit Shoei helmets. I was very pleased to find it was a great fit and very comfortable. I usually wear a size small and this size fitted fine in the Arai. The helmet feels a bit heavy when first picked up but to be honest you dont really notice it once you are wearing it. On the bike I found the helmet to be comfortable and fairly quiet, certainly no noisier than other makes of adventure helmet. The peak seems fine so far and doesnt catch the wind too much also no problems with noise or vibration. I havent found any problem with side winds or when doing looks over the shoulder. The helmet has been used on a Tenere 700 and a CRF300L. Venting is very good but this also means it can be a bit chilly in the colder weather. You will want to wear a wind proof neck tube that can be pulled up over your chin. Great helmet at a bargain price as I got it in a Motolegends Sunday sale.

Arai Tour-X4 helmet in Break blue

Gary: Great helmet

I favour an Arai due to my head shape and have two other classic shape helmets for different weather conditions. This Tour x4 in break blue is a lovely helmet with some nice touches in ventilation and chin cover. Looks sharp and the peak works so well in both sun rise and sun setting situations.
