At some point, the specifications for nearly all short motorcycle boots start to sound like one another. And, to an extent, this boot is no different to many other boots on the market. They’re made from an oiled, full-grain cowhide. You get hard counters in the toe and heel, and fibreglass protectors in the ankles. There’s a gearchange pad. Waterproofing comes courtesy of a Gore-Tex membrane. The main closure is by lace, but you also get a zip that runs up the inside of the boot to help you to get in and out. The outsole is a Vibram affair. Does all this sound familiar? Well, we think we could have used the same description for half a dozen boots we sell. But there are some ways in which Held's Saxton boot is different.
The first is that the boots are constructed using a genuine Goodyear welt. That’s how gentlemen’s boots have been made in Northampton for over a hundred years. It is the mark of the highest-quality, most traditional, most robust and most comfortable boots. The cork sandwich that sits between the upper sole and the mid sole eventually moulds to the shape of the foot to create a fit that is totally individual to the wearer.
The second is the sheer quality of construction, and the components that are used in its manufacture. We love boots like the the TCX X-Blend, but the Saxton weighs almost twice as much as the TCX, and feels like it’s going to be doing what it’s meant to be doing well after the aforementioned boots have been retired. The difference is one that is difficult to convey convincingly in writing, but you only have to pick up a pair of the Held Saxtons to know that these are not your ordinary, everyday boots. The only waterproof boots that we would directly compare them to are Daytona’s AC Classics.
These are, in every way, a superior boot. They are robust; they are very protective, and will eventually become superbly comfortable. A pair of Held Saxton boots will not let you down.

I bought these rather than resole a pair of Daytonas again, and for a change. Really glad I did as although they take a bit of breaking in they are very comfortable, look great and feel very securesafe. They also look better when wearing jeans of bike cargo trousers and feel like they will last a very long time. I still love my Daytona boots but do seem to need to resole at least every 2 years so these will make sense if they last well.

Straight out the box these boots were comfortable and a great fit. I was worried about sizing but these 46 are a perfect fit for my size 11s. They still need to bed in but that is true for most quality footwear that is as robust as these feel. Looking forward to years of wear and the Goodyear welt allows replacement soles to easily fitted.

I wanted to give an honest review if these boots after one month of wear. Since purchasing these Ive had them on every day , I ride to work in them and its rained most journeys sadly yet theyre perfectly dry inside with no discomfort at all , the zip at the side means I can simply slide my feet in and out with ease , I wear them 5 days a week at work which for me means being stood up on a hard stone floor for 8 hours and again there perfectly comfortable all the time . These were the most expensive boots Ive ever bought snd it troubled me to spend such an amount as my last boots were only £90 and looked similar on purchase , I must say these are by far a better boot and still look new where my last boots looked tired after a month and started quickly showing signs of wear , these are infact great value for money as there all I need and will definitely last me usually I buy new every 12 months as wear them out these look like they will last for years .. theres no wearing in period there so comfortable. I can highly recommend these ..
