Held Annone GTX boots Product Information
The Held Annone GTX boot is, let’s face it, a Daytona Roadstar lookalike. It’s not the first such copy we’ve seen, but the TCX version didn’t quite crack it from a comfort and fit perspective. The Held iteration looks and feels far more convincing. Visually, it is very similar. The spec. is also pretty much identical. The boot is made from full-grain leather, and has a full Gore-Tex comfort liner. As with the Roadstar, the Held Annone has two side zips and a Velcro calf adjuster. The shin and ankle protectors are fibreglass, there’s a protective counter in the heel, concertina panels fore and aft make the boot easy to walk in, and you get useful, reflective panels on the shaft and the heel. Held don’t talk about a shank in the sole, but the sole is incredibly rigid, so there’s certainly something in there. Obviously, as you’d expect, there’s a gear change pad on the toe. The sole is a non-slip Vibram sole. The bottom line is that the boot is incredibly similar to the Daytona, but whereas the TCX copy used a cheaper leather and came in a much narrower and less comfortable fit, the Held feels much more like the real deal. The leather is very soft, such that you can tell that the boot is going to be really comfortable to ride in. But it begs the question as to why you wouldn’t just buy a Daytona if all this is is a copy of the German boot. And the answer is going to be the price. We love Daytonas, and if your mileage is significant it may be the way to go. But, at over £450, not everybody can stretch to a Daytona. The Held Annone GTX boot looks, feels and is spec’d just like a Roadstar, but at just over £300 at the time of writing it’s nearly 30% cheaper. And at this price, it cannot be ignored.

Andrew: Held Annone Boots
Wel i have done 2,800 miles on tour in September and they are a great boot, maybe not quite as supple as the Daytonas but not a deal breaker, very comfy straight from the off and not feeling i needed to bed them in much, the only reason i gave it a 4 star is because the neck of the gortex inner boot is narrow compared to a Daytona, and when i go to remove my right foot the inner gortex book trys to come out with it,so i have to hold and push down the back of the inner boot while pulling my foot out,it must be because i have a hi instep on my right foot because the left foot i dont have that problem, but overall a great boot and will last a long time i think.
Neil: Held Annone Boots
They are a very well constructed boot, the leather is soft, supple and comfortable and I particularity like the Vibram soles as they give a very sure footed feel. Whilst I have only had the boots for a couple of weeks, theyve used on half a dozen occasions including a couple of 11 hour stints on training days. They were comfortable from the first time I put them on, this was helped by the ample adjustment on the calf to allow them to be a snug as you would want them to be while still being supple. The calf adjustment allowed me to remove the small amount of heel lift I experienced before making the change. Are they as good as the Daytona equivalent, only time will tell. However, with the warranty offered and the obvious quality of the construction, I would certainly think they will.
