Held Air n Dry II gloves in black Product Information
The Held Air n Dry II is in an updated version of the original two-chamber glove. Here at Motolegends we don’t really like two-chamber gloves. But most two-chamber gloves are winter gloves, and they simply don’t deliver what they’re meant to. They promise something they cannot deliver, but the Held two-chamber, waterproof glove, and it does work; kind of. The Air n Dry has a full Gore-Tex lining. Now in the upper of the two compartments what you get is a traditional waterproof glove, albeit a very nice one. With a kangaroo palm, a Cordura back, Superfabric, a hard knuckle protector and so on, it’s a beautiful glove to wear. But when you put your hand in the lower compartment, you end up with a glove with a waterproof upper and no membrane on the palm side. The idea here is that you have a waterproof glove that you can turn into something that’s closer to a summer glove when the conditions are hotter. You don’t get a pure summer glove, because you wouldn’t want any membrane at all in a proper summer glove, but if you only want to wear one pair of gloves, and want to extend the conditions in which your waterproof gloves are wearable, then the Air n Drys work. And what we can say is that in the warm-weather, lower-compartment configuration this really is a lovely glove to wear. In the upper compartment, you have a traditional, summer-waterproof glove, albeit a somewhat superior one. We are not still not huge fans of two-chamber gloves, but if we were to be convinced by any two-chamber glove it would be this one.

I like these - if its a bit warmer, just use the single layer on the bottom and if its a bit colder or you want a bit more padding for your hand, use both layers on the bottom. Very well-made too. The only downside that I see is when its very hot and so I bought a non-waterproof thinner pair of gloves for that. Very happy with them.
Spencer Baker: My Go-To gloves.
Appreciating what Chris has said in his write-up about 2-chamber gloves, I guess there is the risk that something can be a jack of all trades, master of none.however.I bought these on a whim on one particular visit to ML, but so glad that I did. Since riding away in them on the day of purchase, they absolutely are my go-to glove. Only when Ive wearing a jacket which wont accommodate the gloves gauntlet do I then switch to another pair. For touring trips, these are the Goldilocks of gloves, I wear them deep into the winter admittedly with heated grips on 1 just to give some warmth, and also in the height of summer. In fact I dont own a dedicated pair of summer only gloves, these have it covered. For me, Held are super comfortable, nice thin palm covering, no bagginess in the rest of the construction either. Cant fault them and Im super fussy with gloves, ill-fitting pairs drive me nuts.
