D3O Ghost Level 1 knee / elbow armour with Velcro Product Information

D3O's Ghost armour was introduced into the company's range of protectors at the beginning of 2020. It works on the same basis as standard D3O armour, with a non-Newtonian fluid at the heart of its structure. Like all D3O armour it is highly flexible, and becomes more so as it absorbs the body's heat. But it hardens on impact. Ghost armour is particularly thin, however. It still meets the EN 16121 standard at Level 1, but because it is so light and flexible it is even more comfortable to wear than a standard D3O hip protector. This armour has Velcro® added so that, in most instances, it will fit directly into the standard D3O knee pockets that took the 'old' D3O hip protectors with Velcro®. Please note that for image purposes only Velcro® is shown on the orange side however it does come attached to the black side

paul: NOT as illustrated

Please note the armour supplied is not as illustrated. The velcro is on the reverse side. I ordered these to replace the bulky armour in a pair of Halvarsons trousers also ordered from Motolegends but wont work as the velcro is on the wrong side. When I phoned for help the lady was rude and dismissive as there is a note in the description pointing out the illustration is not the actual product and stupid me should have read all the text. No apology no alternative product suggested just send them back. Ex Motolegends customer.

Alan: Not my first Ghost armour, hopefully not my last.

As did Ian above I bought these, having already used Ghost armour in other garments, to fit into a pair of Halvarssons Wish trousers. Whilst the Halvarssons knee armour probably offers more protection, it is very uncomfortable when off the bike, particularly with the Outlast liner removed, as the edges dig into your shins and knees. I am willing to compromise for the comfort.

Mike B: Ghost armour.

Great fit inside my spidi jeans, armour better than original, as when removing old armour it had cracked and broke. New ghost lighter and moulded around my knee.

Ian: More Comfortable

I fitted these into a set of Halvarssons wish trousers as the fitted armour was seriously annoying when not on the bike. These fitted easily and are way more comfortable and less obtrusive looking. Also comfortable on the bike. I am more likely to wear these trousers now so worthwhile from a comfort viewpoint

Bill: Ghost armour.

What a grand bit of kit. Got them for my Hallvarsons denim jeans. They fit well onto the jeans Velcro and you wouldnt know that they're there. Well chuffed..

Paul: A good improvement.

Very impressed once fitted they're less visible and more comfortable off the bike. They fit perfectly in my Triumph Dirk Leather Jeans. Cant say about the protection I haven't experienced that yet and don't intend to. +ves Less bulky than the normal D3O knee protectors so more comfortable when stood. -ves A real hassle to fit, two Velcro circles top and bottom like the normal D3O would be better. Having the rough side against the knee when sat on the bike is less comfortable than normal D3O.
