There is heated clothing and then there is heated clothing. Warm & Safe heated gear is made by people who ride... the hardcore globetrotting kind of riding.
Generation 4 utilises soft carbon heating panels (also know as far infrared) instead of the traditional nickel chromium nano wire in the previous generations. W&S labels their heated jackets at 90w (at 12.8v). However, measured at 13.8v, as some heated clothing manufacturers do, will place this heated liner at 110 watts.
As with all Warm & Safe heated jackets, you can hook up a single Heat-Troller to control the jacket and possibly heated gloves hooked up to the sleeve connectors, or you can use a dual Heat-Troller to separate the jacket and gloves into 2 distinct heat zones.

Noj: Essential pice of kit
I have been riding 40 years and nothing comes close to this heated jacket. If you need warmer take the car. I have travled four and a half hours at on a motorway speeds at 3 degrees celsius a was confortably warm. I ride all weather all year round and this is essential to being safe. Only thing I would sugest is carry two AAA batteries and tiny screw driver, in the off chance the battery in the troller go down. Only happened once but a pig to find a garrage at 3 am on motorway with AAA batts. Thank you Chris sound advice.
Jon Stanswood: WARM SAFE GENERATION 4 JACKET LINER
This is my first heated jacket so have not got anything to compare against. It will most definitely keep you warm needing only half power when riding in 3 degrees temperature for a number of hours. It does get noticeably hotter on the front and back than the arms but I have never felt any cold patches. The only real niggle is that the jacket comes with a womens type zip eg, it connects the opposite way round. It just makes it a bit fiddly to zip up but overall its a great product.
