Storm Eco Proofer spray on Product Information
Most of you probably know that you need to wash any motorcycle clothing with a membrane with a non-detergent cleaner. The best-known brand is Nikwax, although for various reasons we recommend Storm. Both of these cleaning systems comprise two liquids. One's a washer, the other's a re-proofer.
The re-proofer is important in combatting wetting out. If a jacket or pant does not have its water repellant coating restored, the rain will soak into the outer fabric. It doesn't matter whether you're wearing a laminate or a drop-liner garment, re-proofing is important.
But for various reasons, a spray-on re-proofer works best. Now, there are instructions on the bottle, but basically you wait until the garment is almost dry after washing. You then spray it all over, and bake it in to the fabric with 15 minutes in the dryer.
