Spidi Moto Pro H2OUT sneakers in black Product Information
The Spidi Moto Pro H2OUT is one of the new genre of short motorcycle boots that you might call sneaker style. The problem with boots like this is that there are hundreds out there that look just the same. They all have the same kind of features, and they all do the same job. Their specs. will nearly always be almost identical. So let's look at the Spidi Moto Pro as an example.
You get a leather upper. A high-grip sole, although this one's a slightly superior one from Michelin. A waterproof membrane. Toughened counters in the toe and heel. A re-enforcing cup in the heel. TPU protectors in the ankles. An additional layer of leather for the gearchange. Laces with a Velcro securing strap. A padded collar for comfort. A rear pull strap with some hi-viz banding on it. A moulded insole. And a breathable Ortholite footbed.
If that doesn't fully describe dozens of other sneaker-style boots out there, I'd be amazed.
And so I do find it difficult to review boots like this, or try to persuade people that this boot is better than the next one. All one can do is take a view on the aesthetics, and form an opinion about the build quality. And that's because we cannot say that this is going to be more comfortable boot than something comparable. Or more protective.
So what do we think? Well, it's an all-leather boot, and that's a good start. I like the higher, padded shaft. The boot does feel more robust than some boots of this ilk. It also looks to be really well put together. There's not a whole lot to add that wasn't covered in the listing of the boots' features.
The price is £189.99; and that puts them on a par with similar-looking boots from the likes of Richa, Forma, Falco and all the other usual suspects.
So that's about all we can say. It's another short boot. It has everything you would expect or need in such a boot. It's up to you to decide whether you like the way it looks. The only other thing you can do is try a pair on to see how they feel. That would be the the decider.
Over to you!
Please note, we are branding this boot a Spidi, but technically the boot is labelled an XPD. Now XPD is actually just another name for Spidi; part of an arrangement that Spidi came to with Sidi, whereby Spidi agreed that they wouldn't market shoes under their own name.
