Forma City Dry boots in black Product Information
Here at Motolegends we always like dealing with companies that specialise in a particular field. When brands try to become jacks of all trades one cannot help but feel that they can become masters of none. And that’s one of the things we like about Forma. This Italian brand doesn’t do gloves, jeans, helmets or jackets. They do boots. And they do them quite well. The City Dry is a short, trainer-style, ankle boot. They are not dissimilar to other boots on the market, but we like the styling, we like the spec., and we like the quality.
The City Dry, as the name suggests, has a waterproof lining, although a short boot like this is never going to be as waterproof as a tall boot, as rain hitting the road can bounce over the shaft. The chassis of the boot is a full-grain, oiled leather. The rubber sole is hard-wearing and oil resistant. For protection, you get hard counters in the toe and the heel. You also get pucks behind the leather to protect the ankles.
The boots have laces, but you also get a full-height zip up the inside of the boot. This zip will make it easier to get in and out of the boots, but only up to a point. And that’s because there’s a waterproof gusset that prevents the boot entry from being opened too wide.
Thee’s no gearchange pad, per se, but rather a grooved layer debossed into the leather to prevent the leather from becoming marked.
Forma talks of the anti-shock material that is built into the mid-sole. And apparently the footbed incorporates some kind of air pump system that makes it more comfortable. And certainly the City Dry is a very comfortable boot to walk around in. The price seems about right.

Gavin: Good looking and waterproof
I purchased these for my son, he is limited in choice as he has size 48 feet. They look fabulous and, he reports, are completely waterproof, even commuting into London in the pouring rain. Well made and a great price
