Scott Ergo Pro DP waterproof jacket in black Product Information
The Ergo Pro is quite simply the best waterproof over-jacket that money can buy. Within six months of taking it on we decided to de-list every other waterproof over-jacket we offered because we simply lacked the appetite to offer our customers a second-best alternative. It should probably go without saying that they are extremely waterproof, but they are also very breathable, meaning that you won’t get wet from the outside or the inside. The secret to the Scotts’ performance is the membrane that is laminated to the inside of the outer chassis.
But what makes the Scotts so good to wear is the way they fit. The material from which they are made is incredibly tough, but also incredibly stretchy. What this means is that you can wear the jacket far more closely to the body than you can most waterproof jackets; yet because of the stretch even when you do so they are still very comfortable. Wearing them in a more fitted way also means that they don’t flap in the wind; thus you avoid the noise that one experiences with many waterproofs when you’re riding at speed.
At the back of the neck, there’s a drawstring arrangement that allows you to close the aperture to stop rain getting in at the neck. At the back of the jacket, tucked into a small pocket above the hem, is an elastic crotch strap that velcroes into a loop next to the main zip, although if you match the jacket to Scotts’ Ergo Pro pant you won’t need this because the pant come up almost to the chest. Around the hem of the jacket an elasticated band also serves to keep the fit neat to the body.
A waterproof jacket is something that every biker should carry on the bike, almost regardless of the protective jacket they have on. If your outer jacket is not waterproof, your need for a waterproof jacket may be frequent. But if your main jacket has a fixed, drop-liner membrane or a removable waterproof liner, a waterproof jacket on the outside can play a vital role in preventing the rain from passing through the outer fabric. This will ensure that your jacket can dry out much more quickly, but it will also help you stay warmer because if your jacket soaks the rain in, you will lose body heat much faster. Finally, even if you have a laminated jacket, a waterproof outer jacket can help you stay warmer because it will offer the added protection of a second windproof/waterproof membrane.
The Scott rolls into a small stuff sack no larger than an M&S Swiss roll. No idea why this simile came to mind, although as I write this at about 4.00 pm in the afternoon someone has just brought me a cup of tea, and I would love to have something to make it less wet!
For men, the Scott jacket comes in black, green, grey or bright yellow. The trousers are equally effective, and share many traits with the jacket, but come in black only.

Mac: Scott Ergo rain jacket
The excellent reviews are are totally justified. Im impressed by the comfort , my previous conventional material rain top always made its presence felt, the stretchy nature and cut of this over-jacket means its easy to forget youre wearing it .
David winfield-bennett: 2nd purchase
Hi, I have a Scott waterproof jacket already in high viz yellow which I use more in winter for obvious reasons. I purchased the black one as I prefer layering up in the summer, my rukka is too heavy and not vented enough. Great item packs neatly away, highly recommend it. Never leaks ideal for touring! Good service too
Barrie Brown: Jacket and Trousers
Well done Motolegends, I found your recommendation of these waterproofs spot on !! Easy to quickly put on, totally waterproof and when not in use they pack away in a small size so very convenient ..... thanks !!
Matt: More waterproof than a ducks butt
I recently had the unfortunate need to use this on the ride home from Dartmoor to Worthing the heavens opened and for the best part of 3 and half hours it turned it to a typical winters day in Blighty , not the May bank holiday it should have been. I put the Scott Ergo over the top of my laminate jacket and forgot about the rain ..nearly . I Was bone dry and warm for the entire trip. Very comfortable to wear due to the stretch and a cinch to dry and pack away once home . Its as good as the Chris and Moto Legends crew make out !!
steve: Best rain protection
These are comfortable to wear, easy to put on over a jacket and most importantly do exactly what you want i.e. dont let any rain through - I wore these in a blustery storm riding from Hexham to Carlisle along the dual carriageway and not a drop got through. I thnk that was a good test!
Patrick: Scott waterproofs
Bought both the jacket and trousers, based on Chris motor legends online video review, these are a no nonsense set up , they work fantastic, as others have said dont be afraid to go a size down, Im normally a X-Large jacket, I dropped to a large, I should have gone to a medium would be perfect fit but happy to stick with large , trousers normally large went medium, perfect comfy fit , no sweating at all , I will be wearing both these items throughout the winter as my top layer wind breakers , highly recommended thank you ML .
Ian: Scott Ergo Jacket
Jacket kept me dry during some very heavy rain. Cuffs sealed over my gloves quite well and the crutch strap held the jacket in and the pants up. The only thing missing is a pocket as there is nowhere for a wallet which can entail hassle when filling up if you have nowhere outwith clothing to keep it.
Maskin: Thumbs up
This jacket kept me dry but what impressed me most with this jacket was it stops any wind getting through. I wore it on the motorway doing around 6570 mph. I hardly felt any windchill.
Russ: Jacket and Pants
Worn several times now including for the whole day during storm Antoni in early August and have stayed bone dry, excellent set of waterproofs
Mike: yes, get a size down!
I was sceptical about getting a small - but it fits fine over a size 52 Rukka Nivala or a medium Marrakesh with lots of layers underneath. Same applies for the trousers.
Mike Price: Scott Ergo Pro
Been riding for donkeys years and its never fun riding wet or sweaty. I bought this jacket and pants together and gota say, how good it feels to be dry. The hassle you have to get rain gear on in a hurry, these are brilliant. Theres an old saying It takes a fool to get cold and wet, ok, yes, there expensive for when, lets be honest, the times you get caught out but what costs do you put on quality and on top of there game for wet weather riding, plus their British made. I know its alot of coin but Ive definitely no regrets. Service from Motolegends is spot on and be buying again.
Ant: Excellent
The product is exactly what I was after, A second waterproof layer to my waterproof jacket to keep heavy rain at bay. Good quality item that does exactly that. Would highly recommend this WP overcoat. The fit is perfect to my requirements as instructed by Megan from Motolegends. I am a 48 chest so assumed I would have to buy a much larger jacket to fit over my coat, this was not the case as expertly guided on, the fit is great. Great product and great customer service.
Mark Ellison: Does what it says on the tin
I bought the jacket/trouser combo for my NC 500 trip at the end of May. Luckily the weather held out until we was on the way home going around Glasgow. But no worries the outfit performed impeccably at keeping me dry and warm.....but the reason for only 4 stars is because there's a pull tag at the bottom of both sleeves to help pull over your cuffs with gloves on. When i pulled the tag one of the tags ripped off manufacturing fault? and slightly tore/ripped the cuff. 5 stars for ML though because within a week of phonephotographing and sending the item back i had a new one delivered. I'm yet to try this one.....fingers crossed.
Gary: Scott ergo pro
Hi Motolegends Scotts Ergo pro. Wish I had bought them years ago. Best waterproofs. I've ever had.
Colin: Scott Ergo Jkt
Got the jacket and the matching trousers to go over my mesh suit when required for the summer. I went for the same size jacket I would normally wear and it fits perfectly, not too tight that it restricts movement and not too baggy that it flaps around in the wind. I have done the same for sizing with the trousers but they are a bit tighter so Id probably go up one size if I was buying again. They can both be stored in a medium size tank bag when not in use and fit back in their carry bags once they've been on. Easy to get on and take off and the elasticity of the fabric definitely helps when on the bike. Only negative thing I would have to say is the draw cord at the waist isn't the best but this is only a minor gripe.
Brett Charles: Mr
Cant recommend this jacket and the matching trousers enough. They are excellent. Completely waterproof, well designed and comfortable. I wore them recently on a 7 day bike trip to France. The rain was torrential on the first day and literally didn't stop for 12 hours. I put on the Scott jacket and trousers and i was completely dry from rain and sweat. Thoroughly worth buying.
Richard Nuttall: It’s Not Rocket Science
Ordered these for doing the NC500 best thing I have brought. First week in June who who said it was summer. From the moment I left Inverness to when I got back it poured over the mountains it was blowing a houlie horizontal rain the 4 layer system works a treat. Don’t be fooled by laminated gear when the going gets tough you need the wind proof waterproof outer layer these are the dogs do do s and should be in every serious bikers kit. Watch the sizing particularly on the trousers over a touring suit had a bit of an issue with mine going a size down it affected me putting my foot down not a lot of room. Jacket fitting one size down is fine.
Chris Broadhead: Mr
Excellent fit high quality product couldn’t be happier
Keith Crispin: Mr
I ordered these in late December. I went out for a ride it was raining all day and not once did I get wet underneath these excellent Scott waterproofs. I am so satisfied with these I've changed my mind on buying Rukka gear .Thanks Motolegends for been there at the right time and excellent service
Mark Hamilton: SUPERB
As always, exceptional service and speedy delivery from Motolegends. This jacket is excellent quality as I've no doubt you've read in other reviews. I'm 5'11 and about 13 stone, ordered the M and fits nicely over my Furygan leather jacket which is a Large, so perhaps a Small may have been a better / snugger fit? So, if you try before you buy that's not a bad idea, but free returns here so not really an issue.
KEITH DACE: excellent
I have terrible arthritis in my back and neck, and simply cannot wear a heavy jacket. After watching Lyndon Poskitt's channel on the tube covering his Dakar adventures I decided to follow his advice and go for a multi layer system.I bought an Alpinestars armoured hoodie to go with my Keis heated liner, and the Scott Ergo as my top waterproof/windproof layer. This seems to be the lightest most comfortable setup I can have, and with the additional impact and abrasive protection of a kevlar reinforced back protector for the hoodie I am sorted. The Scott Ergo is very lightweight, packs down very small,in fact if you had an adventure jacket with the lower back pocket,it would easily fit in there, and best of all, when I'm on my unfaired bike it doesn't flap around and threaten to shred itself to pieces.I am 6'2" tall with a long reach and it is easily long enough in the arm,and about 38 chest, and again it fits snug over both my under layers.I went with a small. It is totally windproof, and works perfectly as a top layer, and still has style.Best of all it doesn't make me look massive on the bike like some do it all adventure jackets or other bulky waterproofs. If it was to get damaged or lost I would buy another one in a heart beat.Best motorcycle system of clothing I've ever owned, certainly the most comfortable and unrestrictive.
