Rukka Thermo-G GTX glove in black Product Information
The Rukka Thermo-G is a different kind of glove; it’s a bit of a hybrid. It’s a short-cuffed winter glove that doesn’t feel or wear like a winter glove. It’s got a leather palm with a textile back, which is exactly what you want in a waterproof glove. The waterproofing comes courtesy of Gore-Tex, but not only that; the membrane is laminated; what Gore-tex calls a Gore-grip membrane. And that means that the glove will never wet out, even in the heaviest rain.
The thermal component comprises 200g Thinsulate insulation. A fleecy lining also serves to keep the wearer’s hands warm. You get protectors on the main as well as the minor knuckles. The gloves have touchscreen sensitivity built into the fingertips. You also get a visor wipe on the left hand. The glove is secured by means of a Velcro strap and a knitted cuff. There’s a ‘slider’ on the palm. And you get an extra layer of leather on the palm.
Now usually with a waterproof, winter glove, you would look to tuck the slighter longer cuff into the sleeve of the jacket, but not all jackets have sleeve ends that can be opened sufficiently to go over a thick cuff. And on such jackets these gloves will work well. They will also work well with a leather jacket.
This is a winter glove. It will be warm, but it doesn’t look or feel like a winter glove, and if you are somebody who always has cold hands then you might be wanting to wear these gloves certainly through the spring and autumn. Okay, when it’s really warm, they are going to be too much perhaps, but early on a summer’s morning or late on a summer’s evening, you might still want a glove like this. They not quite what they seem.
