Rukka Nivala 2.0 GTX glove in black Product Information

The Nivala 2 is what we would term a lightweight winter glove. It has a huge and impressive spec., but there are gloves that will keep your hands warmer. Often winter gloves will have a textile back with a leather palm, but the Nivala 2 is all-leather. Some people prefer this, and of course over time the leather will give. Leather is more protective, but in heavy rain leather will absorb moisture.

Not that the Nivala 2 will absorb a lot of rain, as the membrane comes courtesy of Gore-Tex. For added warmth in cold weather, you get a fleecy lining, but also Outlast. Now Outlast is more of a temperature regulator than an outright insulator, but it can be very effective, and works particularly well with heated grips.

As far as protection is concerned, there’s a D3O style protector on the main knuckle. You get small protectors also on the minor knuckles. On the palm, there’s a slider, but also a scaphoid protector.

There’s a lot going on with this glove, so it may not be immediately comfortable for all. But there are concertina stretch panels on the back of the hand and on the thumb. You get reflective banding on the fingers and at the wrist. At the wrist, there are two means of closure. A Velcro strap at the wrist, and a Velcro flap for the cuff.

The two little fingers are strapped together, Troy Bayliss style. The index fingers on both hands are touchscreen sensitive; and on the left hand you get a visor wipe.

H Seddon: Well made gloves

I bought these to go with my original Rukka Nivala jacket. Sturdy, well made glove Fits well under the GTX cuff on the jacket. Nice and warm Will take some breaking in but reasonably comfy from the off Not been able to test the waterproofness of them as yet but hoping they are as good at keeing the water out as my jacket I jave previous Rukka gloves so was confident in choosing the right size Great to have the Gore guarantee Great service from Motolegends as usual

david: Great Glove

I purchased these in a sale as a spare pair at a great price, now I wear them as my goto glove, fits bit tight but all gloves give after a while really happy with how they feel.

Mike Woodford: Glove review

At 50 off the price this was a bargain purchase. I purchased 2XL and they fit my fingers and knuckles perfectly, especially with my hand curled around grips. Really well made and thin on the inside compared to my old Dianese winter gloves. I must have short thumbs as the glove thumb is too long which makes operating left hand buttons a bit tricky. Strangely my other Rukka gloves are not like this.

Oliver: Great Glove

Great glove, fantastic attention to detail and build quality which I would expect from Rukka. Works great with my Rukka suit but not had chance to test in really cold temperatures as yet.

Daz P: Excellent Quality

I bought a pair of the Rukka Nivala 2.0 GTX gloves in one of the Motolegends weekend sales. I have to be honest I probably wouldnt have bought them at full price, £280 pounds is an awful lot of money, in my opinion, for a pair of motorbike gloves on the face of it. But! Having said that once I received the gloves and could physically look at them and wear them it is understandable to see why theres a pretty hefty price tag on the gloves. They are just a really high quality piece of motorbike clothing. My review is slightly stunted, because I havent worn the gloves in any wet conditions yet. I have worn them in the cold with and without heated grips on my bike and they are outstanding. I have to agree with other reviews. They do feel quite tight at first but I do think that this will give a little once the gloves have been worn a few times. I read other reviews and decided to err on the side of caution and purchase the gloves on the larger side. I am usually a glove size 9, sometimes 10. I went with a size 10, large. They are snug but not overly tight and as previously mentioned I believe that with use they will stretch and mould to my hand shape. I think a size 11 would have been too big for me. The fingers length is perfect therefore, a larger size would have been too big. Personally, I prefer a gauntlet stile of glove that overlaps the cuff of my riding jacket on the outside rather than the cuff of the jacket over lapping the glove. It makes for a better weather tight seal, keeps the wind out and your wrists and hands warmer. All in all, an excellent quality high-end pair of colder weather gloves. If you can afford them, I would highly recommend them, just be mindful of the sizing.

Richard N: RUKKA NIVALA 2.0 GTX - Great gloves

I visited the store to try the gloves on, not least as gloves are a very personal fit. In a word they are excellent, working really well with my heated jacket and twin remote controller.

Simon Johnson: Check the fit....

They get a 5 for build quality, no doubt, these are beautiful gloves. In every other glove I own Im a 10, and these felt snug when I put them on, the movement of the thumbs in particular felt restricted. I assumed the gloves would give. I then happened to go to infinity for some chain lube and noticed they had some gloves in stock in an 11 which I tried, they were probably the better size across the palm but the fingers were too long. My conclusion, well, I guess they are made for a slimmer hand. Ive been wearing them daily and Im hoping they, like a pair of Churchs shoes, mould to my hand.... I hope so, they are beautiful gloves... but check for the size first, slim palms and you should be good, wider hands may go up a size... try for fit first...

Martin K: Novels 2.0 GTX

Great gloves. Outrageously expensive of course but I find so much dedicated motorcycle gear to be so. I am prone to cold hands and I wanted great gloves that would work with my heated grips and these do the trick without the faff of heated gloves. Nicely made and I justify the price by telling myself that my hands are worth it!

Kevin Cartwright: Nivala 2 GTX Gloves

After a very wet trip to Scotland this year I have decided to gradually invest in a full Rukka outfit. With colder weather here I decided to start with the gloves. First impression of these is that they are absolutely the best when it comes to build quality and materials used. I bought a size 11 which in the two other pairs of Rukka gloves I own are a perfect fit. These feel much more restrictive, so much so that simply stretching my thumb to the indicator controls is difficult. I genuinely think they will soften up and I prefer my gloves to be a snug fit so will persevere and use these for absolutely everything I can to break them in. In the absence of ownership time to give these a full and fair review Id say they are brilliant quality and offer high levels of protection and warmth. Ill update on the breaking in process at a later date.
