Richa Original 2 ladies slim jean in dark navy

The Richa Original 2 jeans are single-layer, obviously. We have no truck with lined or Kevlar jeans. They are simply too thick, heavy and hot to wear. These are not qualities that anybody looks for in a jean, but they are everything you certainly don't want in a ladies' jean!

 

The jeans look right, they feel lightweight, and will certainly flow the air in hot conditions. They come with the nicest armour in the knees and hips; that's D3O Ghost. They are high waisted, rated AA under EN17092 and they come in different leg lengths.

 

But we do need to explain one thing; and it's to do with EN17092, and abrasion testing. The test works on the basis of a pass mark. And what this means is that the AA level is very broad. Now, the Richa jean is made from a mix of Cordura and cotton. We know that an AA-rated Spidi jean made with Cordura only records a slide-time, under the Cambridge test, of just over two seconds, whereas the Rokker jean records a slide time of over six seconds, so even though both jeans are rated AA, there is no comparison in terms of strength.

 

We have long wanted a jean to fill the gap between our Rokker jean and the PMJ one. Both of those are great jeans, but the Rokkers are out of reach for some, whereas the PMJ's are not robust enough for others.

 

The Richa jean seems to hit this sweet spot. But, as ever, it's going to come down to fit; and the best way to make sure a pair of motorcycle jeans is going to work for you is to come down, and see us. We'll make sure the armour sits in the right place; and we'll undertake any hemming within the price.
