Richa Jade WP ladies boots in black

The Richa Jade is a good-looking motorcycle boot for ladies that could be worn by a rider or pillion alike. The chassis is a full-grain leather. For protection, you get a really strong counter in the toe. You get something similar in the heel. There are protective pucks for both ankles too.  

The boot is lined with a waterproof membrane. Entry and exit come by means of laces and a zip up the inside of the boot, but because the boot has a membrane there’s a waterproof gusset behind the zip. This means that you probably won’t be able to ignore the laces. The zip means that you won’t have to loosen the laces as much, but you will still need to use them every time you put them on, or tke them off. The zip, by the way, is by YKK; and they make the best, most reliable ones. 

At the top of the shaft there is some ribbed cushioning for added comfort. The spec. on Richa’s website says the boot also features ‘reflective inserts’ for high visibility but I, sure as hell, can’t see them! There’s an EVA cushioned midsole that will mould to the shape of your foot. The outer sole is hard wearing, according to Richa, but then again whoever claimed their sole wasn’t? We think this boot ticks all the boxes for a boot of this style.

The Jade is not the kind of boot you’d go touring in, and you probably wouldn’t commute in it, although some people might choose to do so in the Jade because of the extra height it delivers. And herein lies the only real question a biker needs to ask. Will you be able to ride in it, because the raised heel does not allow a rider to easily move their foot along the pegs? The reality is that it will be fine for most people on most bikes, but if you’re concerned you should check it out first. For pillions; no problem.
