Macna Synchrone jacket in black Product Information
The Macna Synchrone embodies the layering concept. It is a basically a one-stop, layering solution.
The main jacket is a mesh jacket, even though to all intents and purposes, it looks just like a regular, motorcycle jacket. You get lots of mesh panelling. It's down the front of the chest, up the arms, and all over the back of the jacket. So this is a jacket you could wear in the warmest of climes. There are also panels of super abrasion-resistant Ripstop Nylon for added strength, and panels of stretch for added comfort.
You get two, lower, zipped pockets. And one upper phone pocket that fastens with Velcro. There's one, internal pocket. The jacket also has compartments on the inside to take a chest protector. On the back of the jacket you get a large, and very stretchy map pocket.
On the biceps and forearms there are volume adjusters. You get zips and Velcro at the ends of the sleeves. At the natural waist line there are side adjusters to allow the jacket to be cinched in, or let out, dependant upon what is, or is not, being worn beneath it.
The Synchrone is AA rated, and comes with Level 2 protectors in the elbows and shoulders.
To be frank, the thermal element is a pretty standard, hollow-form fibre jacket.
It can be worn as a standalone jacket, but some people will like the fact that it can be zipped into the outer jacket. Even the cuffs attach with zips; and that's a nice touch.
For when you're not using the thermal, the Synchrone comes with a storage bag that will hold both the thermal and the waterproof layers.
The flaw in some three-layer jackets is that the waterproof can only be worn on the inside of the main jacket. And this is not the right place for a waterproof if you find yourself in heavy, prolonged rain. Wear a waterproof layer on the inside, and there's a risk of the jacket wetting out.
Well, the waterproof that comes with the Synchrone goes on the outside. And it's a good waterproof. It's a fully, seam-sealed, laminated jacket. So it should be very breathable, and totally waterproof.
It comes with three external pockets, zips at the ends of the sleeves, incoming and exhaust vents. It attaches cleverly, and very securely, to the main jacket. Wear it over the main jacket and you're not going to get wet. This is as good as a waterproof outer jacket gets.
