Halvarssons Sunne pants in grey / black Product Information
The Sunne, which replaces the outgoing Luxor, is a suit very much designed in the adventure aesthetic. That is to say that the jacket sits quite long; it has four patch pockets, adjusters at the waist and so on. The Sunne pant, as you would expect, is in the same mould. It is wider in the leg; wide enough to fit over any kind of off-road boot. As a company, we tend to the view that a laminated suit is never going to be totally appropriate for adventure riding. If you’re working hard off-road and building up a sweat, the last thing you want is a waterproof membrane; laminated or not. But, in truth, Halvarssons is in good company. Both Rukka and Klim already produce laminated, adventure suits. The laminated membrane in the Sunne is Halvarssons’ Dryway membrane. It’s a two-layer membrane, which makes the Sunne pant a particularly comfortable one to wear. The pants have a DWR treatment, which all waterproof garments have applied to the outer fabric. But whereas, on the Luxor, the treatment was a heavy-handed Teflon coating that made the pants feel a little crunchy, the coating on the Sunne is much lighter. As far as protection is concerned, the Sunne pants have panels of super-strong Hi-Art in the knees and bum for added abrasion resistance. For impact protection, there’s adjustable CE, Level 1 armour in the knees and hips. There’s a removable, thermal lining made from Innoborne, which is a Thinsulate alternative. Now, as an adventure pant, the Sunne pants have vents both on the fronts and the backs of the thighs. They come with braces and a full-length zip for attaching to any Halvarssons jacket.
Thankfully Halvarssons seems to have listened to our comments regarding the Sunne pants as they now come in a short leg length as well as a regular leg length. Hallelulah! And we think the black / grey colourway is very stylish. No highlighter pens used on this design.

Jamie Newman: Super comfort but not waterproof
This is my second pair of Sunne pants. I love their comfort and look. Ive toured extensively in these and even in temperatures around 25c they remain relatively comfortably with the help of vents on the knees. I would like to see them on the lower leg too note to Halvarsson However these pants are not waterproof as I was led to believe. My crotch and backside have been soaked through riding in persistent rain. Water dripped down off my Naren laminated jacket which kept me completely dry. Motolegends kindly exchanged my original pair for another and the same thing happened. Again the Motolegend team offered to investigate the issue. I really didnt see the point of another exchange.. I have since used a Scott trouser over these pants which now prevents water ingress. A pain getting them on over a bulky pant but does the job.
Dan G: 90 good
I have been out riding in the recent storms and the top half of me has remained bone dry Sunna jacket! The trousers seem to let a little moisture in at the thigh area Ive seen this in a magazine review too which is not great but the fit and quality is very good overall.
Dave E: Great trousers, and perfect for short legged folk
Bought the jacket and trousers as a full suit as I was very keen to go with a laminate suit. I originally had my eye on Klim, but price and availability worked against me. I was not too keen on the light grey colourway at first, but it has grown on me. The quality seems spot on and the fit perfect. I especially like the small features such as the thermal liner being zipped in both in the waist area but also in the legs. I have yet to try them in heavy rain, but medium weight showers have proved fine ATM. It was the short fitting that swayed me towards this outfittrousers and the armour fits in just the right place. Im hoping for a long life with this suit, especially given the price, hopefully I ownt be disappointed.
