Halvarssons Naren jacket in black Product Information
The Naren is a new-for-2022, 2-layer laminated jacket. As a laminated jacket it will not wet out even in the heaviest of downpours, but perhaps the standout feature on the jacket is that the outer fabric is infused with a stretch component for supreme comfort.
From a protection standpoint, the Naren more than passes muster. Rated at the AA level under EN 17092, the jacket is fitted with Halvarssons’ new, super-flexible, Level 2 armour in the shoulders and elbows. There’s a pocket for a back protector; and we would recommend one from D3O. You can also add a chest protector.
Inside the jacket you get a fixed Outlast lining that will help regulate your temperature; keeping you warm when it’s cool and cool when it’s warm. Laminated garments vent better because the air flows straight through to the body, to which end the Naren has vents up the sleeves, on the chest and in the back.
There are adjusters at the neck, at the ends of the sleeves and at the waist. The jacket comes with two neck collars that attach with magnets. You also get a full-length zip to enable you to connect the jacket to any Halvarssons’ pant. The jacket runs from a continental size 48 to a size 64.
There are lots of laminated jackets out there. Not all of them are massively comfortable. But like the Rukka Nivala, the stretch in the outer shell will make the Naren particularly nice to ride in and to walk around in.

Paul H: Something to fall between my Lysvik and Rukka
I wanted a lightweight waterproof jacket for a June trip to Scotland. With no wish to be too hot in my Rukka or to leave myself less protected from the elements in the Lysvik, I opted for the Naren. I already had the pants, and so this obviously influenced my decision. The jacket is comfortable to wear, allows for my KLIM air vest underneath and, with its multiple vents, gives plenty of air when the temperature goes up. When the wetstuff comes along it zips to the pants with ease and keeps you dry even in heavy rain and motorway spray. My only gripe and hence 4 out of 5 is my fear Halvarssons quality is dipping. No problems with the functionaity of the kit, but the embossed raised labels are coming away from the fabric. In summer with a t-shirt underneath, you might want a windproof layer because you can feel chilly. Z
