Well at last the Swedish company has upgraded its armour. The new protectors are very nice; a great improvement. The armour is soft and pliable. It is commendably large, which is what you would expect from Halvarssons because larger is safer. It is also highly breathable.
All new garments coming into the range in 2022 come fitted with new armour. But importantly any current style can be retro-fitted to take the new armour. And if you do this you will immediately notice a huge difference.
What you need to know is this. The armour for the knees, shoulders and elbows is the same. The hip armour is different. There is a smaller set of protectors, and these have been designed to fit into ladies’ garments.
Each pack costs, at the time of going to press, £24. This may change over time. But for the avoidance of doubt, if replacing the armour in a jacket, you will need two sets, totalling £48. If you are replacing the protectors in a pant, you will need a knee set and a hip set; again totalling £24. As we have said, for women’s garments you will need the smaller size for the knees, elbows and shoulders. The hip protectors are the same size for men and women.
The replacement protectors will only be available online or by phoning an order in. They will not be available from the Guildford store.

Lee: Great Protector Upgrade
We replaced the old style Halvarssons Protectors in our Wien Jofama Neptune Jackets and Trousers with these new flat, soft and larger Level 2 Protectors from Halvarssons. A great improvement in protection and comfort. Well recommended
Lee: Halvarssons Protector Upgrade
We have upgraded the Shoulder and Elbow Armour in our Halvarssons and Jofama Motorcycle Jackets. The original protectors were good in that they were CE Level 2, but were heavy and rather stiff, being pre-shaped they were OK if they were exactly in the right position, but uncomfortable they werent. The new Protectors are also CE Level 2, but they are flat, soft and very comfortable. No problems with exact positioning. The Protectors are also larger than similar D30 and SAS-TEC protectors, which is an extra benefit. We are both very pleased with the upgraded protectors. Changed armor on my LINDSTRAND LYSVIK mc jacket, elbow and shoulder. These new ones are much more comfortable than the old black armour.

This new armour from Halvarssons makes their jackets distinctly more comfortable. Upgraded the armour in my pants some time ago and the whole suit is now better than ever.

Bought these to replace the knee armour in my Wein pants as they dropped below the knee off the bike and were uncomfortable as they are shaped to fit the knee. These are flat and shape around the knee on the bike.

Took out the old armour which was thicker and stiffer. These make my Celtic jacket lighter and more comforable by a long shot.

Upgrade from the original level 1 to level 2. So much slimmer and pliable-you wouldnt think they would be more protective it almost feels as though they dont exist-the jacket also feels bigger!! I can get more extra layers on including a down jacket underneath!!. The only issue is getting the elbow armour in exactly the correct position. A bit of adjustment needed the first couple of wears

Bought to replace the original Halvarssons armour in a pair of Wish Pants and these are so much more comfortable when off the bike the originals were good when on the bike but uncomfortable off the bike.

These seem to be a great improvement in comfort over the original protectors.
Geoff: Sound fit and ergonomics
Light, slim and pre shaped to cup the limb comfortably. Fits in the jacket Hercules correctly and holds position really well. The preformed shape makes them very comfortable and all day wearable. Bought to replace a flat thin replacement armour, that never really worked well as it didnt mould to the shape of the limb easily and had to be made to fit with constant pressure. Really pleased with the update Halvarssons.

Bought to replace armour in my Halvarssons Lysvik, this set is a big improvement. Lightweight and flexible.
