Dainese ladies Carve Master 3 GTX trousers in black Product Information
We are huge fans of Dainese's ladies Carve Master 3 jacket. Drop-liner is our favoured form of construction in that we believe that it's the best option for 95% of riders. But the Carve Master is not any old, drop-liner jacket. It's one with a Gore-Tex membrane, so its waterproofing qualities are guaranteed for life. It also happens to be a super-cool looking jacket that is supremely comfortable to wear and very well shaped for ladies. There's not a lot that is not to like.
But we were, on principle, not so keen on the matching pants. And that's because they come in just one leg length; and that always annoys us. It prevented us from marketing this as a serious suit because, with just one leg length, you are potentially ruling out some 40% of riders. The pants are also quite Italian in shape which means they are quite straight in the hip rather than curvy. And this is why we have positioned the ladies Carve Master 3 as the perfect jacket to wear with jeans.
But some people like the jacket so much that they want the matching pant. And if you are of average height and not to curvaceous the pants might work for you, so we found ourselves somewhat obliged to offer the trousers, not withstanding our initial objections.
Anyway, lets talk about the pants in a bit more detail.
The outer fabric is what Dainese calls Mugello. It's soft and pliable, and so makes the pants as nice to wear as the jacket. The fabric only achieves an a rating for abrasion resistance under EN17092, but that's the price you pay for this level of comfort, the same as you do with some Rukka and Klim pants.
The pants come equipped with Level 2 armour in the knees, but not in the hips. Now technically a manufacturer does not have to supply hip armour in an A-rated pant, but we think that not supplying hip armour is 'cheap', bordering on the irresponsible. But don't worry; if you buy a pair of Carve Master pants from us, we'll throw in the hip armour for free.
The membrane, as we have said, is from Gore, so will enjoy the highest levels of reliability, the highest level of waterproofing and the highest levels of breathability. You will also benefit from Gore's lifetime waterproofing warranty.
You also get a removable thermal liner in the Carve Master pants.
There's not a whole lot more to be said. You get a couple of zipped pockets. There are two quite sizeable vents. There's an elasticated adjuster at the waist. You get zips at the bottom of the legs that will accommodate any kind of touring boot. You also get some reflective detailing.
There can be no doubt that these pants are going to be comfortable to wear. They are going to keep you dry. They are going to be easy to live with. And provided you are not too tall or too short they may well fit you perfectly.

Sue B: Favourite Motorcycle Pants, Ever
I was a bit dubious about these pants because they only come in one leg length and being 57 have had to buy longer leg lengths in other brands. But they fitted perfectly, with Sara making sure they were just the right position on my ankle bone whilst on the bike. The fit around the hips is exceptional, allowing movement without being baggy. The adjustable elasticated waist means there is no gaping at the back when you are seated. I am finding the pants super comfortable to wear both on off the bike the position of the knee armour is excellent. I did get the hip armour which does not come with the pants this easily fits into the pants is comfortable without adding bulk. The lining is easily removed you can adjust the fit around the carves to ensure there are no drafts. The most comfortable motorcycle pants I have ever worn.
