Cargo Buckle 1 Inch retractable ratchets set of two Product Information
On one level, a CargoBuckle is just a ratchet strap. But it’s unlike any ratchet strap on the market, and it’s way better than any ratchet strap on the market.
Normal ratchet straps are pretty clunky affairs. The do a job, but they are messy, they are fiddly, they are time consuming to use, and in certain situations they can even be dangerous. The issue really is that the strap has to be fed into the ratchet mechanism. When the load is fastened in place, you will have a loose end that will have to be fastened somehow to stop it flapping about. Ratchet straps are also not nice to handle. Invariably, you’ll get your hands dirty. Inevitably, one day, you’ll trap a finger. Ratchet straps are what they are; they are functional, but not particularly sophisticated or user friendly.
CargoBuckles are different. The straps are contained within a plastic housing. The strap doesn’t dangle. It coils up inside the housing. But the cleverness of the CargoBuckle is that, when released, the strap automatically retracts into the housing, just like an inertia-reel seatbelt. But as it retracts, it will lock where it comes under tension. That is to say that this is a ratchet strap that self adjusts if a load moves. If the strap loosens when a load moves, the CargoBuckle will tighten itself automatically. There’s no other ratchet strap that does that.
But not only does this mean that a CargoBuckle will secure your load more safely, it means that a CargoBuckle will be so much easier, cleaner and faster to use than any other ratchet strap.
Here at Motolegends, we offer the CargoBuckle in two widths. Both come with 6 ft. straps. The breaking strength of the 1” strap is 1400 lbs. The breaking strength of the 2’ strap is 2500 lbs.
When you buy a CargoBuckle, you buy a pair of straps. And we offer them with S hooks at both ends, making them easy to fasten to any mounting point, although you can permanently secure the housing into any hard surface.
A CargoBuckle will not be the cheapest option if you are looking for a ratchet strap, but it will be the nicest and easiest to use, and it could of course save your bike from coming loose in the back of the van or on the trailer. We reckon a CargoBuckle is worth the extra few bucks!
