Bering Hurricane GTX jacket in black Product Information
As ever with Bering, you get a lot for your money. And their Hurricane jacket certainly has a lot to offer. In terms of waterproofing, the two main things to point out are that it comes with a laminated membrane and that the membrane comes courtesy of Gore-Tex. It’s a two-layer, laminate construction, but the point to note is that because Gore-Tex specifies how garments are to be constructed, and because they approve products before they go into production, you can’t make an inferior Gore-Tex product. The Bering Hurricane, therefore, is a jacket that will definitely keep you dry. Waterproofing simply doesn’t get better.
The jacket itself is a mid-length jacket suitable for all forms of touring and commuting. It is rated A under EN 17092 and comes equipped with CE armour in the shoulders and elbows. There’s a pocket for a back protector. For warmth, the Hurricane has a removable ShellTech thermal lining.
Bering’s laminate jackets are always supremely comfortable to wear, and in this the hurricane is aided by a panoply of adjusters; at the waist, at the biceps and on the forearms. You also get an adjustable neck collar. Zips at the hem of the jacket allow it to splay when sat on the bike. At the ends of the sleeves you get zips and Velcro straps to allow you to insert the cuffs of your gloves inside the sleeves. Pockets are in plentiful supply, with four on the outside of the garment and two on the inside. The jacket is also well vented with openings on the shoulders and a large exhaust vent across the back. The jacket has a zip to enable it to be connected to a Bering pant.
All this is topped off with a five-year warranty.
