Bering Cruiser jacket in black Product Information

Bering, in many ways, is not a Motolegends kind of brand. It’s neither super technical, nor super stylish, but we have a soft spot for the french brand because it invariably punches above its weight. The gear is comfortable to wear. It does what it says on the tin. And it always offers value for money. We are not a company to chase the lowest prices, but we like to have an offering to suit anybody who comes into the shop. And Bering is the perfect offering for some kinds of rider.

The Cruiser is a shorter, urban-style jacket that is about as middle of the road as it gets. It would be perfect as a starter for the person who is new to biking, or for someone who is returning to it after a lay off. It does everything you’d expect, and has all the bits you might need.

It’s got four external pockets, including one on the forearm. Plus more on the inside; some in the thermal liner; on in the outer shell. The jacket comes equipped with Level 1 armour in the elbows and shoulders. The jacket has a pocket for a back protector. The jacket has an impressive AA rating under EN17092.

There are adjusters on the upper arms. At the ends of the sleeves you get zips and Velcro straps. At the hem, at the sides, there are zips to enable the jacket to splay a little over the lap when you’re sat on the bike. The jacket is equipped with a drop-liner membrane. This will keep you dry most of the time, although in three, four or five hours of rain the jacket will start to wet out. There’s a zip-out thermal liner as well; and it’s got a nice, high collar for colder days.

Here at Motolegends we have become ever more wedded to the idea of wearing a waterproof, textile jacket with a pair of jeans. When you get to wherever it is you’re going, you take your jacket off, and you can go about your business unencumbered. All it means is that you have to carry a pair of waterproof over-pants with you.

Well, if this is how you choose to ride, and it’s a way many of us ride already, then the Cruiser jacket may well be your perfect jacket. Okay it’s more vin ordinaire than Premier Cru, but sometimes that’s what you need; something good and honest that does the business.

And then, of course, there’s the price. The Cruiser is insanely inexpensive. We sell lots of gloves that are more expensive than this jacket. To call it value for money is to make a statement of the ‘bleedin’ obvious’. This won’t be the best jacket for everybody, but for some it will be perfect.
