Bering Carlos King jacket in black Product Information
The Bering King Carlos’s ‘raison d’etre’ is its sizing. It’s a jacket designed for the rider with a larger tummy. Now the issue is this. As motorcycle jackets get larger in size, normally everything increases proportionally. And, in particular, the sleeves get longer. But that’s not what happens with the King Carlos. As the King Carlos gets larger, the sleeves don’t. And this makes sense because, for most of us, as our tummies grow, our arm lengths don’t tend to elongate! The jacket comes in sizes XL, 2XL and 4XL, but the 4XL will accommodate a girth that might not fit into a 6XL or larger of a normal jacket.
As a jacket, the King Carlos is no Rukka, but it nevertheless covers all the bases. It is made from a 900 Dernier material called FibreTech. It comes with a drop-liner, waterproof membrane, a removable thermal, inner jacket, CE armour in the elbows and shoulders, four external pockets, elasticated waist adjusters, incoming vents in the shoulders, an exhaust vent across the back, elasticated concertina panels behind the shoulders, volume adjusters on the sleeves, and loads of Scotchlite-like reflective areas.
This is a jacket that will be more than up to the job for most people. It has al the features that you would expect. There are other jackets with similar, or even better, specs.. But for many bikers this may the only jacket that is going to fit properly. And this can be the most important consideration of all. Whatever the specification of a jacket, it will matter little if it doesn’t fit; if it’s uncomfortable around the waist or if the sleeves are way too long to allow the rider to control the bike effectively.
