Schuberth C4 helmet in matt black Product Information
Schuberth's new C4 is perhaps the most anticipated helmet launch of the last five years, and with good reason.
The new C4 sits at the top of the Schuberth helmet range. It's a totally new design that is somewhat sportier and more streamlined, some have suggested that it shares its underpinnings with BMW's System helmets, but this is not the case. In fact, contrary to common perceptions, Schuberth doesn't make BMW's helmets, and they haven't done for some years. But what makes the C4 so trick and so exciting is its comms. system that employs 'bone technology' for voice transmission, rather than the traditional microphone boom. It's a system used widely by special forces in military helmets, and in the motorcycle market the technology was developed by Schuberth. The microphones are concealed in the cheek pads. The earphones were also pre-installed, and all you had to do to start it up was install the battery and command unit into a recess at the back of the helmet.
The C4 is similar in principle, albeit different in detail. In the C4 the microphone is in the headband, where there's no wind noise at all, so transmission quality is excellent. The battery and command units on the C4 Comms. are slotted separately into compartments on the underside of the neck roll. The comms. package is available in two versions; this unit is called the SC1 unit and it is, in essence, the 'brains' of the system.
The standard version will give you up to nine hours talk time. The more expensive, advanced version will deliver up to 14 hours talk time. This latter version also permits music sharing, and has an FM radio facility. As one of the UK's largest sellers of Schuberth in the UK, we hold stock of all the C4 colourways in every size. We also have a couple of colourways that are exclusive to us.
Outer Shell
The outer shell of the Schuberth C4 Helmet is constructed using an innovative proprietary method called Direct Fiber Processing (DFP). A continuous strand of glass yarn is robotically precision cut and blown outward into position in the mold. An exacting amount of resin and heat are added under high pressure, yielding a shell of superior strength that is no thicker in any one area than it needs to be.
Inner Lining
The comfort liner of the Schuberth C4 Helmet utilizes ShinyTex, a fabric inherently antibacterial, washable and fast-drying. A seamless headliner and integrated spectacle channel ensure maximum comfort for all riders.
Ventilation
The Schuberth C4 features an intricately designed multi-channel ventilation system inside the helmet shell, resulting in extraordinarily quiet, substantial air flow. Inlets in the forehead and chin area ensure that you keep a cool head.
