Richa Hypercane GTX gloves in black Product Information
The Richa Hypercane glove is a classic, summer-waterproof glove, by which we mean it has a waterproof membrane for protection from the wind and the rain, but no thermal insulation. In the UK, this is the kind of glove that most people would wear from, say, the beginning of April through to the end of October, although on really hot days a pure summer glove might prove less sweaty.
The summer-waterproof glove is the most prevalent style of glove on the market, but the Hypercane is one of the very best. And we don’t make this claim lightly. In truth, Richa is a mid-market brand, but in recent years they have punched above their weight when it comes to gloves.
The glove not only has a Gore-Tex membrane, but a laminated Gore-Tex membrane; what is known as a Gore-Grip membrane, meaning that the glove will never wet out.
The Hypercane is constructed from a mix of goatskin leather and textile fabrics. For protection, you get a D3O knuckle protector with a second D3O pad on the palm. Four-way stretch and accordion bands on the fingers make the Hypercane particularly comfortable to wear. There are two adjusters at the wrist and the cuff, and you get a visor wipe on the left index finger.
The one thing the Hypercane does not have is a touchscreen-sensitive fingers. If it did, this would simply be the perfect glove. It’s still a great glove; just not the perfect glove!

R R: Really good value
Almost perfect for a Scottish summer. The only criticism I have is the reinforcing at the base of the fingers could be a little wider. The narrow reinforcing feels like a slight ridge on top of the grips - not actually uncomfortable but unecessary. Dry as a bone and very flexible. I really like them.
