Moto Skiveez Travel shirt in grey Product Information
Moto Skiveez came into being when Shaun, the founder, became involved with the Iron Butt brigade over in the US. These are the guys who think nothing of setting off on a 2,000 mile round trip to have tea with an old buddy. Sean took his experience as a semi-pro cyclist, and created, in association with the TMF Institute in Switzerland, a padded motorcycling short designed to relieve some of the pain associated with riding a bike over long distances. We sell those shorts; and a lot of people swear by them. Next he addressed concerns about a base layer for these guys. And that's why he created the Travel shirt.
The Travel shirt is made from a lightweight Ripstop material. It makes for a shirt that's easy to wear, and that is highly breathable. The lightness of the fabric contributes to the fact that the shirt rolls up so small. In fact it comes packaged in its very own little stuff sack.
The shirt comes with mesh-lined openings behind the shoulders. There are stretch panels that run up the flanks. These are designed for comfort, but also for extra breathability. You get two Napoleon pockets on the shirt, but interestingly one of them fastens with magnets. This makes the pocket easy to use with a gloved hand, but it does mean that the shirt is not for you if you have a pacemaker!
Now Moto Skiveez makes a big deal about the fact that their shirt fastens with poppers, making the point that it's annoying if a traditional button gets pulled off when you're on the road. And that's fair enough.
So for people who don't want to wear a T-shirt as a base layer this shirt gives you an opportunity to wear something a bit more structured that will still breath properly under your technical jacket.

Merv: Nothing to exciting.
Its much the same as many other manufacturers outdoor products. Sizing is generous and I would say try going smaller. Magnetic closure is a gimmick and guarantees you a full body search at the airport along with the metal press studs! Material feels clammy in hot conditions. Yes it drys quickly and requires no ironing, looks smart as well. But its standard fare for its genre, trying to be different but not succeeding.
