Halvarssons Wien jacket in black Product Information
The Halvarssons Wien jacket is the CE approved replacement for the company's longstanding and hugely popular Prime jacket. Like the Prime, the Wien is constructed using a drop-liner membrane. The outer fabric is slightly more abrasion resistant than that used in the Prime but, as ever with Halvarssons, the material is backed in all the most vulnerable areas with a lining known as Hi-Art that increases the strength of the outer material by 500%. For warmth, the Wien comes lined with Outlast, but you also get an inner thermal jacket, made from Innoborne, that can be worn separately. Venting on the Wien is excellent, with two openings on the chest and an exhaust vent across the back. For fit, the Wien has adjustable, elasticated straps on both flanks, and it is this feature, in particular, that made its predecessor so wearable. Level 2 armour comes fitted in the elbows and shoulders. There's a pocket for a back protector, but we prefer to fit our own D30 protector that has been modified to take Velcro, rather than Halvarssons own, somewhat heavy protector. Obviously, the Wien can be zipped to any Halvarssons pant, but again we prefer to match the Wien with the laminated Wish pant rather than their drop-liner Wien trouser. We always opined that the Prime jacket with its Prince pant was the perfect combination for 95% of riders. We feel the same about its replacement: the Wien and Wish.

Geoff: Great Balance
Great jacket and real value for money. I understand it has been replaced by the Solberg but not sure for the better. The Wien fits like a glove, doesnt flap about or feel bulky. Certainly keeps you warm in this current colder climate. Will adapt the jacket as you can for the hopefully warmer summer months, and thats the benefit of this type of jacket
Michael: Halvarssons are quality
Have only used the jacket a few times so far. The quality is first class and Im sure it will be as durable as my previous 5 halvarssons jackets. I do about 75000 miles per year so I need to keep a few jackets in rotation and halvarssons gear is a worthy budget alternative to rukka.
Nicholas: Comfortable, warm and fits well
Im really happy with this jacket having worn it for three of the four seasons. Zips and fastenings work well the rubber velcro tab on sleeve can take some arrangements with gauntlet-style gloves. I find the storm collar useful too.
Gary: Halvarsson vien jacket
Just back from a run wearing my new Halvarsson Wien jacket. Its really is the most comfortable jacket I have ever owend. Size is spot on. Am so glad I listen to what Chris said about This jacket.
Tim Haynes: Best jacket I have owned
Have now ridden around 8k miles in this in all weathers and it is the best jacket I have owned. Warm and well vented, waterproof and well made. Hopefully it will last for years but would definitely buy another. Coupled with the laminated Halvarsson Wish pants it is the perfect combination.
