Shark helmets design and manufacture all their helmets in their headquarters in Marseille, France. Shark has been making helmets since 1990, and has always been a leader in  technical innovations. In 1991, Shark was the first company to produce a helmet completely from carbon fibre; it was called the Shark XRC Carbon. Shark was also the first company to create a flip front helmet with dual homologation, meaning that it could legally be worn in either position. New for the 2025 season is the latest version of the flip-over helmet which is called the Shark OXO helmet. A flip over helmet like this allows you to use as a full face or open face helmet, unlike a flip up helmet like the Shoei Neotec 3 where the chin piece does not go all the way to the back of the helmet. 

More recently Shark has added a very good all round full face which we think offers a great value but very safe helmet for starters. That is the Shark Spartan RS. We also offer Shark's top of the range full face sports touring helmet, the Spartan GT Pro which competes with the Shoei GT Air 3 albeit at a slightly lower price point.
