Flip-up motorcycle helmets

Not everybody loves flip-up helmets; some people associate such helmets with the police and a certain kind of BMW rider, but frankly these people need to get over themselves. We at Motolegends are big flip-up helmet fans, and we think they represent the best of all worlds. First, a flip-lid helmet is quieter than a full-face helmet, as the neck-roll can fit closer to the neck, and this is because a flip-lid can be slid into place from the back of the head, rather than having to pass over the widest part of the skull! The Schuberth C3 Pro is still the quietest helmet on the market even five years after it was first released. When a modern flip-up crash helmet is closed, it is pretty much indistinguishable from a full-face helmet, but when you’re in town, the front can be lifted to create a much better airflow. It’s also useful if you want to ask somebody for directions. It is also vastly preferred by the medical services in the event of an accident as they can access airways and the face without having to take your helmet off. So we can't really see the downside of a flip-lid.

For us the leading flip-front helmet is probably the  brand new Shoei Neotec 3 helmet. We can change cheek pads and liners for the best fit. New out in 2022 is the Schuberth C5 which is set to compete as the best in the field.

Shoei Neotec 3 Satori TC6 helmet in white / black

John: Brilliant

A friend of mine kept telling me get a flip you will love it no Im not a fan but after countless videos of Chris tell everyone a flip lid with a drop down sun visor is the way forward I started listening after all he was right about the klim Marrakesh! Ive always owned a race style lid because of owning a race style bike but they just dont work very well on an adventure bike! I wanted to look the part with a peak but its just not practical with my daily commute on the motorway. When I came in to the shop I wasnt booked in for the PFS fitting and went in on the off chance but Joe fitted me in and Im so glade he did as the size I thought I was is wasnt! Motolegends stuff are very knowledgeable about the stuff they sell so when they talk listen as they are the experts not just after a sale. Ive only used the lid for 3 days and I absolutely love it! I didnt t think I would use the flip as much as I have and the sun visor is perfect for going home in the low sun. If your on the fence about a flip go get on thats my advice.

Schuberth C5 Carbon helmet in black

David Tory: Amazing Helmet!!!

This helmet proves the adage you get what you pay for. By far and away the best helmet Ive owned in 30+years of biking including many long distance tours in many carefully selected helmets. I procrastinated for months over this purchase due to the high price point, I wish Id bought it straight away, its that good. Very light, very quiet, very comfortable and noticeably lighter and less fatiguing over the standard C5 after about 4 hrs on road. Sorry Chris, I disagree with you, this isnt only worth the extra money over the standard C5, I think its well priced for what you get. Its also a thing of absolute beauty in the hand! As always from Motolegends, we, their customers, benefit from their excellent and very carefully thought out and selected product line, all sold at a great price, items always delivered quickly and beautifully packaged. What more could we ask for? Thank you Motolegends
