Klim gloves | Klim motorcycle gloves

As most would acknowledge, Klim is the name when it comes to adventure riding. Other brands do adventure gear, but adventure gear is pretty much all that Klim does. It’s their thing. Furthermore, Klim gloves are made using the very best components - Goretex, YKK, D3O, goat and cow hide and so on.  The company makes gloves for pretty much every adventure in any conditions! They do winter gloves, summer waterproof gloves, as well as proper summer gloves for hot weather. They do gloves for the road rider and then they do off-road gloves too. They are all very comfortable to wear and fully spec'd for the task in hand.

As ever, here at Motolegends, we never buy into a brand wholesale. We like, for example, some Rukka suits but not all of them. We are big fans of Rokker jeans, but some of the Swiss brand’s other products don’t do it for us. 

Same with Klim. We think these guys do some amazing stuff, but we are not indiscriminate fan boys. We pick and choose the Klim gloves styles we like. We don’t just whack everything up on the web, in the hope that somebody may happen upon it. We will only offer something if we feel strongly enough to to get behind it here in the shop. And in that spirit, we have cherry picked, or curated as they say at Bike Shed, the styles we really like.

The Baja S4 glove is the lightest, and easiest-to-wear glove in the range. It’s a great glove for hot weather, and gentle off-road, riding.

The Induction and the Aero Pro are serious off-road gloves. They are beautiful to wear. They give loads of feel. And they are very protective. Truth be told, however, the two styles are very similar. I think we only do both because the two gloves match different Klim suits.

The Adventure is a classic summer-waterproof glove. It’s got the lot, including a laminated, Gore-grip membrane. Having an adventure bias, it has a shorter cuff, which means it won’t tuck into a jacket’s sleeve quite as well as some waterproof gloves. The glove is also very robust. There’s a good amount of thick leather involved, and lots of other stuff going on too. A glove like this is going to take a time to soften up. It’s not, initially, the easiest-to-wear and most comfortable waterproof glove on wall.

The Badlands GTX is brand new. It’s undisputedly a winter glove, but it’s not a hardcore winter glove. There are warmer ones out there. It’s also got a laminated membrane, which probably means that it will be very waterproof, but it won’t perhaps be the most comfortable, winter glove. It's got a lot of attractive and useful features, however. And the way the straps work on the wrist and cuff is very clever. It’s a nice glove.

Value for money is a relative concept. And on that score MCN is never going to give anything from Klim more than three stars, but if you want the best quality, it comes at a price. Like all their stuff, Klim’s gloves are not cheap. But they are exceedingly nice, as Mr. Kipling would have said.
