Klim
Klim is an American company that makes the ultimate in technical motorcycle clothing for adventure riders for biking either on or off road. Working only with top brands like Gore-Tex, YKK, BOA, Cordura, Koroyd and D3O. What makes Klim special is that it is a company that stands apart from the crowd. You won't find a version of another companies' product. What you get is unique, well thought through, properly researched and tested products that will work for motorcyclists out in the real world.
If we were to cut to the chase and try to explain what Klim is about, I think we would suggest that this is an organisation that is totally product focused. The place is run by ‘gear geeks’. Klim is all about the product. Funnily enough, there actually aren’t many motorcyclists in the motorcycle apparel manufacturing business. And one of the results of this is that the clothing that comes out of most motorcycle clothing brands doesn’t get tested in anger before it goes into production. Klim is different. At Klim everybody rides a motorcycle. They ride in the gear before it goes into production to make sure it is going to do what it’s supposed to do. They test it almost to the point of destruction, and they care about the tiniest details. For the real adventure rider, in the UK or around the world, Klim is a brand you must consider.
Here at Motolegends we have been a seller of the brand for a number of years and are certainly one of the biggest UK stockists for Klim. The company has only been making gear since 1999 but it has become the best in the field. Their pursuit of the highest quality fabrics and materials is unrelenting and, to an extent, they have pioneered the use of Gore-Tex laminates in the off-road arena. But no company puts more time and energy into real-world research. They don't follow trends or fashion. They are interested only in gear that works on the bike; gear that works in the most extreme of conditions, and when it is being put through its paces by the most committed of riders, Klim’s gear works. It is not the cheapest, but it works. It will always keep you dry, keep you cool, and keep you safe. Such is their belief in their product, Klim has an unprecedented life-time warranty on their products.
We have more trouble keeping Klim gear on our shelves than getting rid of it but there are sometimes great items to be had in the Klim sale section.

Klim Marrakesh jacket in green
Just read Chris website review of this product. This jacket is everything youd want to ride a motorbike anywhere from Iceland to India. The concept of layering up is without doubt the way forward. I moved to this expensive but good value jacket after wearing a Knox Urban Pro mesh body armour - great product and served us my wife rides well in Sri Lanka this year but they are heavier, less easy to accommodate layering this jacket has great flexibility and has no pockets obviously this has. I cannot recommend it highly enough and cannot think of a better bike jacket wherever you a re or whatever youre doing.
Klim Latitude jacket in stealth black
Bought this as a replacement for a Halvarssons one which after 5 years was no longer waterproof. As I ride all year round this isnt an option. I baulked at the cost of Rukka Nivala and had fancied the Rukka Kimi but got 20 off the Klim so went for that. Since then I have ridden about 1000 miles including a wintry ride from Gloucestershire to Northumberland and back. It has been fully waterproof and windproof too. Combined with decent base and mid layers I was warm too. My only negatives are the cuffs dont open wide enough to fit winter gloves underneath and the endsof the sleeves are very stiff and dig in a bit. Otherwise a really good bit of kit.
Scott Ergo Pro DP waterproof jacket in hi-vis
I have had other waterproof over jackets, they all had issues, either not waterproof, or turned into a sail and billowing up, and or short sleeves. The Ergo, needed to be one size up for me I was on the top end of the range on the size chart, and it was too tight, however the next size up was still snug, but not resistive to movement. In a howling wind 50mph, in 3ºC and rain, it kept the cold windblast at bay and stayed waterproof for the 6 hour journey. Expensive, Yes! Brilliant, Yes! Worth every penny, Yes!
